Is the project still active?

If "yes" any releasedate?

Could I have the alfa or beta release?

well they are still testing and yes its still alive,but as for a release date thats not mentioned yet.

So could you tell me whats new in the beta, is there new functions or just many fixes?

Could I download the beta anywhere or is it a closed beta?

well i have it like a handfull others and you cannot get it unless the developers invite you to it.
it comes with a lot of new features and fixes.
but its up to the und user to decide if their happy with it...
