Let me say, first of all, that I am not a coder and have little experience with ftp or installing programs on a server, etc.
I have been running a PhpNuke site since August of 2004 (obviously I had someone else set it up for me). In all that time, I have never had a problem. However, in the last month, I have been hacked three times. The first two were fairly easy to fix. Mostly cosmetic damage. This last one, though, is over my head. The people who frequent my site are becoming annoyed with my constant downtime. I have searched and googled for any information on security patches and upgrades, but I don't understand three-quarters of what I read. I do understand that I need to upgrade to the most stable version and install up to date security.
I have almost 4,500 downloads with at least twice that many image files. The idea of losing all that or starting over is terrifying. Hopefully someone here can lend me a hand. |

I honestly don't know what version it is. It used to say, in a footer at the bottom of the page, but that got erased along with most of our blocks, etc, in the last hacking incident. Perhaps you could take a look at it and see?

It's been running since late 2004 with no upgrades, so it's going to be an older version. Forgive my ignorance. |

well since your site looks a bit empty (i dont mean this negative) it would be easier to install a whole new nuke instead of going with any upgrade steps.
your not using the phpbb forums so only thing left is installing a new nuke, and after that import the downloads again...piece of cake.. |

I considered that, and purchased the latest version of Nuke, but was worried that I would overwrite the downloads. I also had several custom blocks on the front page that were deleted. I know the information in the blocks is still there, certainly the images used in them are still on the server, but replacing those blocks is beyond my abilities. When I thought of reinstalling the themes we have, the custom blocks and the downloads, I figured an upgrade would be easier. |

You paid?
well you just spend $10 on nothing...
you better could have donated that to raven...lol
but ok....
what i suggest is to download ravensnuke.
http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/viewdownloaddetails-26-235.html
then install it and import your downloads and users to the new database...
But as for who's gonna do that for a fee, thats up to you .... |

Yea no point paying for FB's version - you will still be vulnerable without the latest Patched files and a good security addon |
