I am having a problem with my installation. I run the install SQl and the config.php like you are supposed to, then I deleted the iinstallation directory. When I go to the admin.php and try to login to the admin panel, I type in my admin name and password and it just takes me back to the admin login page. It will not login to the panel. Anyone have any idea what this is. Thanks for your time... |

I am having exactly the same problem. I setup my site last night, and did a great deal of maintenance this morning without any login problems. This afternoon, I cannot log into the admin page at all. I may have not closed my browser overnight. I am not certain, but I did close it prior to having the login problems.
During the installation, I setup both the God user and a user account with the same name and password. Presently, I can log into the site and forums using the user account (or any other user account), but I cannot log into Admin.
Any help you can provide is greatly -- almost deperately -- appreciated.
Thanks,
HL

I am now in...
How did I fix it? I did not. I simply logged in using the Maxthon browser. I have verifed that I can also get in using Internet Explorer, but with Flock or Firefox, I cannot log in. Strange huh? |

Did you by chance have any special characters (not alphanumeric) in your user name? There is another thread regarding this if your does. |

No. It was "mysteryz" (no quotes). |

Ok, that is definitely odd. I have asked all that I know to ask at the moment. I have not seen this issue before, so am left scratching my head...
I know that FireFox is really picky about W3C compliance. The odd thing, though, is that FF is Raven's sole (primary) browser and he has never mentioned an issue like this.
What kind of server is this site running on? I.e., windows/*nix, apache vs. iis, etc. |

Apache version 1.3.34 (Unix)
Going back to the Flock browser and clearing cookies, I can now login with all browsers. Both Flock and Firefox derive from Mozilla. I guess they were sharing something that was causing the problem. |

Can't believe I forgot the #1 "try" which is always delete your cookies... sorry about that! Also, I just loaded this distro on a brand new LAMP subdomain and had the same issue as you. I deleted my cookies and I could then get there.
What I am thinking now we had both accessed that URL/domain/subdomain previously and something was cached in the browser. I deleted both cookies and temporary files, so not 100% which one it was. |
