Animate Gifs from folder....

We are creating images of wind fields in either gif or png format on a per hour basis (We would rather do it in PNG but GIF is OK too) . We can take these images and on creation drop them all in one folder. Does anyone know of a way to animate those images with PHP without us having to touch them. It does not have to be a Nuke thing.....just a PHP thing.

I know I ask some of the damnest questions!

how exactlty do you want them to animate? please be specific.

Jade, These are wind field maps. Each Map is a square of the same size. All we want to do is have them Show Image 1 then image 2 then image 3. Nothing fancy. We will have 24 or 48 of these a day.

I have a couple of sample plots we are doing on a home server. I will PM you a link so you get the idea.

At the moment we are outputting png files but can change them to GIFs if we need to.

Okay, so do you need them to run in a certain sequence? I assume yes but it is always best to ask. It should not matter at all what format image you use. Is this something that you will be adding to as the day goes on and the animation will need to add them to the rotation or does the order not matter. From the pm you sent me I assume that it will matter but its been a long week and I could be a little off lol. Let me know and I will help you get that going.

also, to be clear. you will be only using the images for about 1 day each and then you will replace them with new ones?

Jaded, WAY COOL! I look forward to trying it out! We have not done it yet....but I assume that the files will be stamped with 00, 01, 02, 03, etc. I would think it would be cool if it read the first 24 files that it hits.
