Can you click on the url that you are inputting and see if you see a RSS feed there? That would validate that you have the URL correct. If so, it should work. If it still doesn't work post the url you are trying to use here and one of us can check it out.

The RSS feed capabilities, especially incoming feeds, in Nuke are not exactly very robust and they can stop working for a number of reasons including invalid data in the feeds. A replacement is in the works for a future version of RN.

Can you give an example of the stock RSS link you're using? Sometimes the default Nuke RSS block function doesn't cache the feed correctly, and needs time to reset. I usually just make the feed admin only for a day, then change to all visitors after verifying that it's working correctly.

I'm working on a replacement function, called nukePIE, that can handle more than the RSS 0.91 feeds that the default block feed reader does. It's currently working on my site, and handles RSS 2.0 and ATOM feeds with no problems, and even displays popups with the teaser text from the article, etc. I need to upgrade the underlying software and put some finishing touches before releasing, but hopefully in the next month or so.

A little confused - are you saying that you haven't been able to display an RSS block for http://nukeseo.com/backend.php, even after waiting a few hours after creating the block?

You're not trying to load your own backend.php, right? Can you send or show a screenshot of the block definition?

Also, what version / distribution of PHP-Nuke are you using, and have any modifications been made?

Thanks,

unwired, can you please post the screenshot of the block admin page (how you are trying to set this up) and answer the additional question please.

Also, since this is working for us, have you made any modifications to your nuke system?

My "gut" is telling me that your host isn't allowing fsockopen() and/or fputs() PHP functions, especially if you are getting this on EVERY external feed.

No modification has been made, all stock RN 2.10.01. Only module i added were Coppermine Gallery and GCalendar, which I got in this site.

Step 1: Creating a block with RSS Feed, uses of stock links:

Step 2: Confirming the creation:
Result I got this error, where I can't continue:

Email support. Ask them if either of these two things are disabled. Ask them politely if they will consider enabling them. If they refuse, and it's a deal-breaker for you, change hosts.
