Cant add blocks or content manually.

I have recently tried to manually add a block and even add content to my site but it seems i cant. I can add the titles but where I need to add the content of the block etc it is all white and it wont allow me to type in them.

Any ideas.

This sounds like a problem with WYSIWYG editor, which is really kguske's area, but can you confirm the following.

Are all the files present on your server in relation to FCKEditor?

What browser are you using?

Is this a new install of RN?

Has it ever worked?

2. Yes it is a new install
3. No it has never worked.

An update on the above. I cant add any text into the site via admin, that includes content, footer text, blocks, news etc. Basically anywhere on the site that has a text imput is whited out and not editable.

In your root directory, open the file rnconfig.php and look for this line:

$advanced_editor = 1;  // 0=Editor is turned OFF, 1=Editor is turned ON

Change the value from 1 to 0, save and try again to enter text in the spaces provided.

FCKEditor, btw, is the default editor in RN. "kguske" gave me a really big helping hand with the same probem you're having and we got it to work just fine.

Thankyou, turning off the editor worked but i would love to know why it wont work when enabled.

You need to do some file changes that only kguske can help you with over in the FCKEditor forum here. I had the exact same problem and his fixes worked. I have all the files handy but I'd rather have him guide you in this matter in case there are some bumps in the road.

Sounds like there is a conflict somewhere. amcb10, please PM some site details (just a URL to start if your submit news is available to the public and / or members, otherwise I might need admin access).
