Ok, ever since I installed Sentinel, I've been getting variations of the following errors:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/www/whiteroseswww/config.php:119) in /home/www/whiteroseswww/includes/sessions.php on line 249

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/www/whiteroseswww/config.php:119) in /home/www/whiteroseswww/includes/page_header.php on line 529

I've seen this posted elsewhere, but never answered. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

Also, ever since adding the Your Account fix, I've noticed that I either can't log out (I had to clear my cache just to get out of admin) or can't log in. What's causing this?

Hm, seems I actually had to uninstall Sentinel just to be able to log in...

If you applied chatservs patch series 2.5 files the Your Account index.php should already be "Fixed". I've never heard of anyone not being able to log out from the admin because Sentinel is installed and find it hard to believe it is the cause of this issue unless you are running some modified admin files that I haven't run across yet. But yes clearing the cache out after any mod install is a good idea.

The headers already sent error is answered on the forums here but in a nutshell it means your server doesn't have output buffering enabled or the buffer is too small. Sentinel would have nothing to do with this one at all. Check your phpinfo to verify the output buffer settings.

I'm not sticking my head in the sand here but I think there must be more involved here then you've listed.

Hm, yes, I saw something about the header thing elsewhere. Gotta add a line to .htaccess I believe.

I suppose the login/out troubles I was having were solely caused by my cache, but I do find it strange that I do not experience any problems as long as it is not enabled (which is not good!).

Ah, and I don't have chatserv's patches. Need to get my hands on those...

Ok, I'm still getting the header errors, and if I unstiall Sentinel, it returns to normal. Also, when I try to apply settings in Sentinel, I get this message:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/www/whiteroseswww/config.php:119) in /home/www/whiteroseswww/admin/modules/sentinel.php on line 500

check your config.php for stray charters, maybe a missing ";" or something like that. Just a guess.

Thanks Tao Man you might be on to something there!

Or perhaps whitespace after the closing ?> php tag?
What are you using to edit the files?
Online file managers are notorious for causing charector issues like these as is MS Word.

I upgraded to v7.4 patched, and all's well. No problems anymore. Smile
