Hi all, I have been using RN 2.4 for quite a while now and have put off upgrading to 2.5 due to laziness and everything working fine for me, however I have just done the upgrade and found that Live Chat doesn't work on my site anymore.

I tested the upgrade locally using xampp and live chat works fine there, however not on my production site. It did work on production site with RN2.4 until I upgraded.

Basically now I get the error accessing server message even with the define include path fix.

I turned error reporting on in the module itself via chat.js and it gave me an error due to mysql_real_escape_string, so I tried the $db>sql_escape_string() fix for that, which then led to an internal server error with no other error message displayed.

Going directly to liveChat.php gave me an xml error.

Is there anyone familiar with live chat that would be able to help me out with this, it appears that there is no longer support available on the developers forum due to how long ago any posts were made there, so I figured I would ask over here Smile

It's been awhile since I used the script, but I remember that live chat uses a "cloned" version of mainfile.php to reduce overhead within the chat application. Chances are that some of our changes have broken the "cloned" version. Heading out the door so don't have time to look right now, but I would check out the cloned vs standard mainfile and see what might need tweaking.

I am not exactly proficient in php, however I did have a look at the 2 files.
class.chat.php clones 2 functions from mainfile.php, is user and cookie decode.

I tried changing them to the newer versions in mainfile, but it killed the entire chatbox lol.

Failing that I decided to clone the xampp install on my webserver and see if it worked there in case I stuffed something up when upgrading my proper site. no dice, Live chat doesn't work.

i then downloaded all the rn files from my proper site and overwrote the xampp install to see if there was any difference there. No dice again, live chat works.

It must be something to do with server configuration, but I have no idea what could be causing it or how to fix it Sad

I don't think server config changed within the 15 mins it took to upgrade the site, yet what worked now doesn't.
