I viewed the other thread concerning cookies but could not find the answer. I am running phpNuke 7.5 with the latest versions of Sentinel and CNB Your Account. After I installed CNB YA, my users are logged off EVERY time the close their browser for a length of time, even though I have set the "time of cookies" to one month. This happens to me as well. Although my admin cookie is fine, as a user I am always looged off after about 30 minutes of closing my browser. Any insighte would be appreciated. |

Are you using a path of your own in cookie config? If so try it with the default and see if it continues. There is an error in the code that occures when a custom cookie path is set. |

I amusing the default. Additionally, since it is a gaming clan site, our members are quite annoyed having to type in symbols each and every time they visit. In the short period of time since I posted, my cookie has already expired. |

There are 2 settings that control the expiry time
Time of Cookies 1month
and
Allowed period of pageview inactivity -Indefinite
What is the Allowed period of pageview inactivity set to? |

Allowed period of pageview inactivity is set to 1 hour. I set it to indefinite to see if it cleared the problem. Assuming it will, I will post the result. |

Well.....within a matter of minutes....I was logged off. So....Setting the cookie time period to one month and the pageview inactivity to indefinite did not work. |

Hi ktunstall,
I have some questions for you:
Did you heavily modify mainfile.php?
What is your servername/domainname?
(mine is nexus.flexihostings.net/mydomain/phpnuke)
Did you install phpnuke in the root of your webserver?
Did you enable autosuspend?
Further: if you set cookiedebug to 1 in:
/modules/Your_Account/includes/cookiecheck.php
are all cookies set correctly?
Lots of questions, but they will help us sort out your problem
Cheers,
Richard |

I will try this.....
Interesting note. I received a notification that someone registered....I was able to go right in....very strange.
I will do the cookie test and report back. |

The email is being sent with the link to bfrevolution.homeip.net so I wonder if there isn't some confusion with the cookie too? |

Anyway I've been logged on for a while left several times and came back and am still logged in. If you change your phpnuke settings for the url to bfrevolution.com instead of bfrevolution.homeip.net then I think everything else will begin to work as its sposed to.
Note* I checked the cookie set and the expiry is: Sunday, December 26, 2004 10:22:50 PM |

Very nice.....it was a temporary address (and test bed during original developement) while the site was being moved....hmmmm
I checked to form settings and they are correct.
OUCH!!! Under Preferences / Web Site Configuration / General Site Info......still set to the temp address.....God I feel like a noob..
Thanks for the help everyone. |
