Neither of these blocks are refreshing correctly. They both work but they are showing people as there when they are not there (I know this because the users they're showing as on are me via other browsers). The User Info block says users are still on when they're not, even after I delete cache & files and refresh; likewise so does the Who is Where block. I'm pretty sure I've go the newest of both. Any advice? Is there any way to have them both refresh correctly?

It helps to understand how that works. When users visit a site, a count is update that displays the count. It has nothing to do with ones browser cache. If the user closes the browser, there really isn't a way to update the count to show that the user is gone, at least not automatically. That's why a timeout value is used to determine who has visited the site in the last x seconds. Visitors that who visited longer than the x seconds are no longer included in the count. But if you display the count within x seconds, the count may not be entired accurate.

The other possible explanation is that the blocks aren't installed correctly. If you check the installation instructions, you should find that it isn't as simple as just copying the block file and activating the block. There are other changes required to update the counts correctly. If those changes are made correctly, the counts will be off.

I'd like info on how to accurately refresh when people come and go ... is that possible? I have conflicting blocks. Raven's UserInfo block says they are there, my new install of Who-is-Where 2.3 says they aren't there, by the same token that block doesn't seem to be refreshing that I can tell. So,

How to tell which block is reporting the more accurate info on who is actually there and who is not, Raven's WIW isn't telling me *where visitors are* but the WIW 2.3 block is, that's why I switched. And yes, I know IPtracking will tell me who *was* where but it's not the same thing.

I want an accurate account of who is on my site, members and visitors, and have the block/module update at set intervals with correct info as to who is where. Can that be done? I'd think one of these blocks is more accurate than the other? I just don't know which. And like I said Raven's doesn't tell me where visitors are which is why I added WIW 2.3!

Ill keep an eye on this topic, I might make a who is where block that refresh everytime the block is loaded(everytime you change the page, its default).

This will take some time and in the mean time, Ill look into making Ravens block tell you where they are, unless somehow its installed incorrectly OR the block is coded differently, time is short tonight so I doubt it will be today.

darklord, I don't think mine's installed wrong (either one of them) ... my Raven's UserInfo block looks like Raven's does and seems to work fine but the WIW 2.3 (or whatever number I said I have LOL) seems to be getting it's info from somewhere else. Neither seem to be terribly accurate and they do not match data wise.

I saw a User / Site Info block on someone's site that had a tiny animated country flag beside each user (including visitors, it was very kewl but I can't remember the site I saw it at now ... would love something like that too.

1. Ravenscripts User info block and Ravens WIW
2. Cant remember, the ones for 7.6
3. From ravenphpscripts.com download-section
4. I figured since the thread is named "Raven's WIW & User Info Blocks" and I couldn't DL "Raven's WIW & User Info Blocks" from this site I was trying to get som info as where I could DL them.

Nevermind now, I DL:ed JAG online from somewhere and tried it.

Almost exactly the same as WIW and user info blocks, but combined. Dont know if it is better or worse, but it worked for my(almost everything).
