Ive recently been working on a new Site Info block.
This block is already coded the way I'd like but I am currently trying to develope the admin section of this block.
It's design is to display the admin picture below a name written to the nuke_admin table(instead of the nuke_authors)
This was the easiest editing of a script I've ever done
Now I'm workin on an admin for it.
I did this in an effort to limit hackers ability to even have a place to start.
As you know, the original script was designed to be that if the site username and the admin username were the same, it would display a picture below the username informing they were an admin. Now this is seeming to me to be a bad idea, as if I was a hacker I'd imediatley think that I know the admin username, Mines designed to make it display differently, give control to the site owner.
Any ideas that you all have as input would be greatly appreciated. The script is already developed, I just want your all takes on whether or not its worth while or if this is for mysite only and alsio any security implications this might have or ways to expand it.
Right now, you have to type it a text field to make it work, im thinkin a drop down or a promote would be nice, adding it onto the your_account would be cool. I'm thinkin stand alone as well, any ideas? |

One more thing. When making the installer script for ravennuke(tm), why did you all return the sql as an array and not buffer it?
I'm asking because I have used buffering for a while and you all know more about this then I and am curious if there is an issue with buffering it I may not be aware of.
Thanks. |

The MS-UserInfoBlock lets you completely configure the look and feel of the PHP-Nuke User Info Block.
its the one i use on my site and maty uses it to...

A few weeks ago I searched for the next version of my old Site Info block and wondered why so many guys worked with this block. I saw about 50 or so of this blocks worldwide I did´t find my next version but I found out that many people just steal code from each other.
It´s not my job to inform the authors also I don´t know exactly who stole from whom the code but its apparently if your merge two block files and if you check the date. Every idiot can add an image and voila the block is changed and the author too.
Of course I don´t mean you darklord but it seems that is a current method. |

Just for a heads up, I saw the "author" in the block I'm changing.
Then I went to their forums and politley asked if I could make some changes to the block, Now if I make somethin I would expect the same curtousy of anyone who would like to edit the code and release it to the public. So as I would expect of others I will do unto others. Basically, I would NOT remove their statement or copyright, but would add to it with their permission if possible, I did a theme and added to the copywrite but refuse to give it out due to the fact that I could not obtain permission from the owner.
So I will do my best to not do what you have experienced sussann. |
