Cant install RavenNuke 76

all i get is this

I was unable to reach your MySQL server using the MySQL connection settings in your nuke config.php file. The exact error message that your MySQL server reported is Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46).

shiloh3, Ok, I see now that you have finally posted this as a new thread which is what I was wanting you to do.

You have to make sure that your config.php file has been appropriately edited to have the right database name, user name and password in it. This is assuming, of course, that you already following the previous step successfully and you have created a new empty database.

Update for you all watching this: He got ahold of me and I was able to fix all this no problem.

He actually wanted to upgrade from nuke6.0(with splatt) to 7.6.
uhhhh. Yeah. Having a problem converting his phpbb. I have worked on this for 9 hours.

Everything else converted to ravennuke.Except the forums.

They populated the database, Just wont show on the forums, curious why this would be.

Like I said, Ive messed with this for 9 hours. Needless to say, he opted to go without the forum posts getting transfered, I dont think I could have takin it anylonger Laughing

okay i am lost again

the beta site is up

i backuped the main site

and uploaded the beta into the main

i get this

The admin_file you defined in config.php does not exist

i missed the file

did you know i spend 4 hours read here

i didnt find the fix

but i did gain alot of knowledge

here and there i loose connection to the pbb site
or posting a debug message

also having a hard time having left and right blocks

seems only the ones left show
the ones to the right dont

but its up and running minus the posting issues here and there and the bock issue

Either will need to check the mail settings in the Forums Configuration, or in your PHP configuration

i tried that also
the settings are pointing to the correct location

i 1st installed ravennuke on a beta location
then transfered it over into the root

so i tried to sign up and i am getting an activation error

its pointing to the beta url when i am registering brand new from the production site

what happens is when you sign up
the activation link is wrong
so is the password reset link

help
read about 5 hous
learned somethings butr not how to fix the registration and posting

The last two posts are the result of moving the site.
More accurately, there are a couple of url's that are set during the intial set-up process. These can be found in Nuke Admin ->Preferences and Nuke Admin ->Forum ->Configuration
You will see them straight away once you navigate to those Wink

I didnt even get a chance to look at these forums before he caught me on yahoo. Laughing

He's been enjoying askin me to look at everything and believe me, Hed be posting a LOT. Laughing

But due to the amount of time, Ive told him that a charge would be applied for the time, He has put the cost towards Ravens account as it was here that he seeked the help.

Shiloh is now well on his way and Im sure hell be here more often.
