What about an accepted word list because the banned word list is causing legitimate (non offensive) words to stop the posting of messages.

In filters.inc.php I have had to remove " ass" as it stops the words 'assist & assistant & associated' etc being used.

I have also removed " dick" because it stops the legitimate use of a name - Dick being short for Richard.

So what have been your solutions or am I the only one with the problem.

That would be tough you'd be parsing websters for each post.

What your experiencing is the process of elimination. Word filtering is hit and miss. The best are the most specific as you've seen. But filtering can be useful though in no way 100%. People can usually find ways to get there message accross.

Its kinda either keep working on a filter that works for you or moderate/approve all posts or coments. Thats not much fun because people like the gratification of seeing their comments in "print" immediately.
