I think what I am seeking is technically called 'GeoIP'.
I wonder if this is possible for my/a PHP-Nuke wesbite and if so, where I can the relivant information or scripts etc.
To clarify, some global companies have wesites with various content specifically towards a certain country, (like local news or even ebay, where you may only want to view or sell goods from the country you are located in etc).
When you visit the home page/URL of these sites, some give you the option to manually choose which 'local' site and content you want to see, while others automatically direct you to the loca site indended for your location/region.
So I am wondering if it is possible for my PHP-Nuke website to automatic detect which country a person is vewing from and have them directed to a module with their local homepage and content? |

I'll admin right off the bat that I am not that experienced with this, however, since NukeSentinel can tie the client IP and tie it to a country, it might be possible to tie into it somehow.
Just my 2 cents worth... |

I was thinking the same thing but without experience in this Geoip, I have a feeling it loads a little different then what our impressions are. From what emmaphp has said, This redirects but I bet its more of an if statement in which could be coded, but sounds like this would need to be hard coded into nuke in order to make this compatible and That is possible but would require specific knowledge site to site bases and not something that could just be generalized, thus the hesitation.
Im sure that if placed in the for hire forum, this would get a little more attention in the direction required IMHO. |

Hitwalker.....Although I want people from different regions to reach their own customised homepage to my website, all versions will be in English and the languages on my website are currently dissabled.
I am not sure your suggestion here would be usefull for this reason. |

ah yes i see....
then montego suggested the best way...
sentinel is indeed the right tool for this since it has the info.
but its going to be some job to accomplish that.
a point im thinking of is the ongoing changes and development with sentinel..
there is no guarantee that the code created for your Geoip will keep on working or stay compatible... |

Unfortunately, as it stands today, that could be the case. |
