problem with the footer and the header

hey guys,

i want to create in my news this kind of site
http://www.microsoft.com/israel/windows/default.mspx

i want only the header and the footer to be like the site i gave, the rest dosnt matter.

i've been working on this for a two days..
and havent figure it out..
how do i do that?

If you mean the background images, then you would set the top image using the BODY tag in style.css and set it to only repeat sideways, and set the background color to match the bottom part of the image.

body {background:#4A2820 url(../images/BodyBack.gif) repeat-x;}

Then you either create a full height div or table and set it's style to the other image and set it to repeat sideways again but locked to the bottom of the table or div.

#MainArea {background:transparent url(../images/wow6_01.gif) center bottom repeat-x;}

I hope that is clear enough.
