I have just had to modify a line in settings.php within the \admin\modules folder due to the field setup in this file being too short

In my script the line is number 341 and is now set to
Quote:

. _EMAILFROM . ':</td><td><input type="text" name="xnotify_from" value="'.$notify_from.'" size="30" maxlength="50" />'

Note the original file was set to size 15 and max length 25.

My domain name is 26 characters long plus whatever my mail prefix takes it up to 35

Before I changed this (as the DB field is plenty long enough at 255 chars) it truncated my entry at the 25th character and then my mail servers added a default prefix onto it which ended up given me a meaningless email address.

I guess this was short for security reasons, but there are many other email address fields within settings.php that aren't restricted to 25 chars. I would recommend increasing this field entry size in the next dist

Ah, young grasshopper, that is truly the question of which we do not like to give clear answers because we work on this in our spare minutes of the day. Hopefully very soon...
