Hello,

I am recently running into some sort of an error with the drop down IP. When I click on the drop down and then click on an IP the page displaying the whois info no longer opens up.

I also went to this site to check:

http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=62.152.125.31 (modified from original) and on doing so I get:

Quote:
Where are my DNSstuff results?

You landed here most likely from doing a direct tool lookup using a URL.

This type of DNSstuff tool access requires being logged in to DNSstuff as a member (we recommend using the remember me checkbox).

If you would like to do any of the following, please join us for just $3/mo:

So I located another tool that I liked (http://www.xav.com/scripts/axs/whois.pl) and attempted to edit the code in the block-User_Info.php file

Code:
$whoisServerString       = 'dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=';

To:

Code:
$whoisServerString       = 'xav.com/scripts/axs/whois.pl?a=';

And while I do not know the exact error, it still does not take me to the page.

I will attempt removing blocks, and stories and see if that correct the issue. Any others experience in that would be greatly appreciated!

I have this working under FireFox. I do recall awhile back having issues with IE not working. Maybe it still does not work properly? I finally got smart and ditched IE after too many issues with it not behaving well with plug-ins and also it is too forgiving of poorly structured HTML and non-compliant HTML... Wink

Thats just because you run the IP look up to often. This was in the past also a problem with NukeSentinel therefore it was changed to Arin Net.
You don´t need to pay $3 but you are not allowed to run this IP Look up automatically and so often from your IP.
They banned me temporary also in the past so that I wasn´t able to look up IPs.

Thank you all,

I changed it to the following, and it works like it should again!

Code:
$whoisServerString       = 'ws.arin.net/whois/?queryinput=';

Montego, I wish I would have looked here before this evening! Smile

Thank you again Susann!

Another good whois, the one I use, is 'whois.domaintools.com/ip='

Hi Susann,

For me it's a IE problem. If I use Firefox the IP look-up works fine, if I switch to IE I instantly get the "This type of DNSstuff tool access requires being logged in to DNSstuff as a member" message Sad

Cheers, Paul K

No, I´m quite sure that has nothing to do with IE or FF I don´t use IE since years, and some day I noticed that they changed some things. I believe it was last year.
whois.domaintools.com is my favorite its really good.
