Does RavenNuke support gzip?

You mean GZip compression output? Yes.. I believe it is on by default (at least, it shouldn't have changed as phpNuke also does it)

Not sure of what you're looking for. It's not really an application nor PHP issue per se unless your server uses mod_gzip. Your GZip compression is mainly a function between the web server and the browser. See this article for a good explanation: http://betterexplained.com/articles/how-to-optimize-your-site-with-gzip-compression/. For more information, Google for gzip compression php.

Should we set the forum for gzip compression on? Or as its on the rest of the site as default, do we leave the setting in the forum acp to no?

Don't turn it on in the forums. Since the Core system already uses it, it will try to compress again and your forums will turn into gibberish Smile
