Hello all, I use a mod that basically adds the top 8 most recent topics at the top, you can see it in action here...
http://www.online-gaming-forums.com/forums.html

Basically since the 2.4 upgrade when you click on the New Post icon I get a dead link which I think is down to the Mod re-write not working for these links, at the point when the link is a new link the link ending is this...

/ftopic-5346-newest.html which doesn't work

but once the link has been visited it changes to

/ftopict-5346.html which does work

Any idea`s on this anyone Confused

Its a great mod and will be a shame to have to delete it Crying or Very sad

Thanks for any help all.

I think its mainly when you are logged in as a registered user and you can see the New Topics which are shown with like a square dark blue icon just left of the topic.
The url shows as this..

http://www.online-gaming-forums.com/ftopic-5346-newest.html

which is a broken link etc.

cheers

what does the un-shortened url look like? you must have had to add the "newest" tap, and there is a conflict with another tap. Noticed ftopic-5346-newest.html is missing either the p or t it needs to find the actual url. So when your links are shortened, your modded url is being mis-identified as one of the rewrites starting with ftopic- when it needs to be ftopic\\1-

post your shortlinks rewrites and any new urls added by the mod and I bet we can get it working....

mrix, this was a bug that was fixed in 2.4.0 and make sure you have the right rewrite rules from ShortLinks.htaccess for the forums.
