I have switched to a new host and changed from PHP 4+ to PHP 5.2. CGI/ Fast CGI
My memory_limit = 50 not much but should work for RN.
max_execution_time =30
before the memory-:limit was 64. I can´t change this at the new host.
However, the memory limit is larger then post_ max_size.
So should I change max_execution_time e.g. to 55 seconds to avoid 500 errors ?

I´ve gotten hundreds of Internal Server Errors but it´s not my fault. It looks like the 500 errors are gone today.I have deactiveted some modules.
I have also the option to activate Zend Optimizer, eAccelator, IconCubeLoader and the extension APC (PHP 5).
Which one should I try to avoid 500 errors ?

Zend Optimizer & IconCubeLoader for sure.

Unfortunately, in all my experience, I have never received a 500 error from a memory constraint. And I don't believe any of the options you list ( Zend Optimizer, eAccelator, IconCubeLoader and the extension APC (PHP 5) ) will help you with those errors.

Thanks, I think I will leave the max-execution_time with the default setting because this works at my other hosts.
Also I removed output buffering=on from my .htaccess.
I´m trying eAccelator if it doesn´t work well enough I will use Zend Optimizer.

No new 500 errors yet.

Sorry, I glossed right over the CGI you mentioned Bang Head or I could have saved you some time Embarassed .

You can't use PHP options in .htaccess running CGI. All PHP options must be put in php.ini files or in the master PHP.INI file. See http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/postt14527.html and other posts in the forum at http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/forum180.html. Just ignore the suExec info if you are not using it.
