Email Notification

Scenario:

Several users in a thread opt to be notified by email of replies. Most recent post is illegal according to our TOS and is removed. I get several emails where the users that opted in are receiving an email with an invalid link because the post was removed.

Is there any remedy for this anomaly?

I would not say the link is invalid. I think they are just told the topic does not exist right? The only thing you could do is change the language of that message. Is there something in particular you want to happen?

I call it "invalid" because there is no reply there any longer. Since the illegal message has already been posted it's too late to do anything as regards users getting an email notification unless we had a time machine to visit the past. So I guess the best thing to do is to add a blurb to the notification text.
