If the wrong place, can a moderator please move to the correct place please?

Thanks Very Happy

Which of the team is responsible for nukeseo.com ? I only ask because I'm interested in the theme it uses (Imagic2?) but I'm wanting to "tweak" it a little (it's the colour scheme and layout I'm interested in, I guess)- but I'd probably want to change some stuff also. I'm going for a "leaner" approach than current so it loads faster....

I'm wanting (if its available) to test that with the news mod and some other stuff.

Also, on the subject of the website- a downloads section I've seen on a site (can't find it now!) has like a "featured downloads" module/ block header that rotates- can this be modified so that it shows latest news...? (and used on the home page to highlight certain news/ articles?)

I'm trying to find the site now.... struggling as always..... lol.

Thanks for any help/ feedback.

You want a block, it shows the latest news?
Why don't you use the Last_5_Arctiles Block?
Or what the block can exactly?

nukeSEO.com has an Slider but i can't find it in download section, too.

I work at the moment on a slider for my news mod. You can see it on my website. Its an unreleased part because for the pictures we have only the topicpics in the RN core package. Here i must find a good upload option. I think a own upload function with an individual width and height option is here the best solution. The other one is, here must exists an fallback for deactivated JS in the browser. The Frontpage Slideshow and Slider of nukeSEO have it not and the complete slider shows an loading circle or you can see the content of all slides in the index... i think this is not so cool.

could you not use an image from the article itself, instead of re-uploading?

As for your script... COOL AS! That's ideal- If memory serves the frontpage is big/ bloated.....

As an aside- for the news upload- it would be great if you could upload additional photos for an article (for example, a "mini gallery" that it shows at the bottom (resizing the images to fit automatically so it generates thumbnails) that then either open up in a new window, or in a "litebox" type effect (depending on Javascript, etc.)

Thanks for your help so far- much appreciated what you are doing for the community.

(Can you detect if JS is enabled/ available in the browser and direct according to that?)

Sorry for "off topic"

If you need feedback/ testers for your slideshow mod, please let me know Very Happy

No, because not everyone use images in the shorttext. For example i wouldn't do that in my shorttexts. If you you have activated the charcounting in the shorttext, then you break the complete html-code and all of your content ist broken! You can not combine a gallery and the news in the self slider, its not possible! Mini-images makes no sense in a News-Slider! I will only create an news slider, not more.

What do you want is an static slider but you can not using static elements with an dynamic content. The News are dynamic - a gallery is static.

I meant in the actual article/ news itself, not in the slider (mixed 2 different subjects up)

something similar to what's on this page... : [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

(maybe I should get wordpress? lol)

You can use the colorbox for that. Looks here: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

All of you examples are self written solutions and you will never found and free download for that. You can found only the sources to the jquery plugins but you must create it self.

andyb2,

- I developed the Imagic2 theme from another system's theme. It's really old and full of "issues" but I'd be happy to make that available to download if you like.

- The Featured Downloads "slider" currently on nukeSEO.com is only a hard-coded kluge I wrote years ago. I am working on a fully-featured static and dynamic slider. I haven't posted many details on this yet, but hopefully someday soon... The idea is to give you the ability to specify an image that would link to a news story - or any other type of RN content - and that these could be generated dynamically (e.g. last 5 news stories) or statically (e.g. "Featured Downloads") and possibly even combining multiple dynamic content types (e.g. Top News, Top Downloads, 5 static slides). You can see why I won't rush this...

- As far as I know, the Nuken's colorbox editor enhancements for nukeWYSIWYG featuring FCKeditor have not been adapted to nukeWYSIWYG(tm) 3.6.3 featuring CKEditor.

I hope this helps...

thanks for the feedback. I've found a slider from one of your (collective) sites (forget which at the minute) which I am going to look into/ see if I can utilise...

kguske,

This will sound "simplistic" to some, but I'm trying to get my head around themes (still)- the part I like (and want to replicate into a "new" theme- see here:- [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

From your theme, I'm wanting to change the way the blocks are displayed- particularly where you have a red line underneath your block titles? Is that a background image, or a border?

You can see from viewing the source:
Code:
<td bgcolor="#FF0000">

<img src="themes/Imagic2/imatges/comuns/espai.gif" alt="." width="1" border="0" height="1">
</td>

So, it's a background color with the height of a single-pixel transparent image.

As I mentioned earlier, this was copied from a PostNuke theme years ago. I certainly wouldn't use this approach today. I'd use a CSS border on the table row, if I had no other relevant container.

Code:
border-bottom: solid thin #ff0000;

my plan -if possible- was to use a background image for the title- I think I've managed to move the title across so it should give me room for what I'm hoping to achieve (small red flash on the left with a red underline as one image)
