Hey.
I need a full rewrite of ravennuke and many custom features and profile enhancements. I am willing to pay up to $5000, and possibly more, for a recreation similar to this site:
Code:
http://thetechgame.com

They use phpnuke, not ravennuke, but the same can be done with ravennuke. I have contacted the developer of TTG, Telli, on his site (codezwiz.com) but he is currently 41 years of age and wishes to no longer be a rent-a-coder, as TTG was his final masterpiece project. He heavily customized the site and recreated the Your_Account modules for very advanced profiles. I am looking for something like this, and for someone to be my personal rent-a-coder, for Avery good price. I am very friendly and experienced, but not as experienced as Telli. If anyone is interested, please contact me by messaging me on this site, or messaging me on AIM.com.

My aim:
Code:
ATacticalHitMan

Thanks for reading. I am willing to go higher in price, if need be.
Thanks.

PS: It doesn't have to be a FULL rewrite like TTG did, just something similar to TTG, with most of the features. I have a bb2nuke custom username color change mod, similar to what TTG uses.

Just so there is no confusion here, that website definitely does NOT use phpnuke, RavenNuke or any other flavor of *nuke. The website seems to be built using The Turning Gate http://theturninggate.net/
It might benefit you to look at that before spending time and cash in replicating something you might be able to do out-of-box.

What the hell are you talking about? They didn't use anything called "TheTurningGate"? Why would you think that? Just because it's abbreviated "TTG"?

Don't believe me? A while ago, before Telli added a 403 permission denial to the file, their .cfg file: TheTechGame.com/themes/ttgv4/forums/forum.cfg said that it was a fisubtext configuration file. Fisubtext is a phpnuke theme.

Also, they use the your_account module.

Code:
http://www.thetechgame.com/modules/Account/public/userinfo.php

^That 403's, proving that the file is there, but just blocked from public view.
More proof they use the Your_Account module:

Code:
http://www.thetechgame.com/Your_Account/op=userinfo/username=SEAN.html

^That directs to the Your_Account profile for the site's owner.

Also, this link 403's.

Code:
http://www.thetechgame.com/modules/Account/includes/phpbb_bbstuff.php

ricktido, Guardian was just trying to be helpful to you thinking that if it wasn't Nuke based and instead using a different tool, it might have been possible to use that tool without spending the money you have offered. That is all. Guardian is an Admin here and well respected in the community... he only means to help.

We need to be careful in the on-line world, where there is only the written word, as it can be easy to misinterpret what someone has written. It just happens.

We will have to wait to hear from Guardian to see if he can clarify any further.

Thanks and regards,
montego

I respect him, as well, but I have to say, he is wrong. You even know that TTG is phpnuke, Montego. Do you ever talk with Telli? You should ask him about TTG. Shouldn't TheTechGame be taken down because they have removed all copyrights from all modules.

Also, this link 403's.

No, I have not had any interaction with Telli in years. Regarding removal of copyrights, I really don't have time to chase down every offender as such. It is just a waste of my precious little time that I have. People will do what they want. Others may disagree with me, and that is fine... let them push on the wet noodle. Smile

I think this slight diversion on the topic is done and we can move on to you getting some assistance with this effort. Cheers

Yes, but this 'offender' makes hundreds of thousands of dollars off of his site with over 1 million users. Is there any way to bypass a 403 error and view the contents of a phpnuke .tpl file? Or .php file?

By the way, don't you agree with me that TTG is phpnuke?

Sorry, but I don't have the time, nor desire, to fight these battles.

No. That would be a security breach and Apache is really good at enforcing the .htaccess rules.

I neither agree nor disagree as to do so would require me to spend personal research time that I would rather spend elsewhere.

I am seriously considering breaking this debate out from your original forum thread as it could detract from you getting a response on your proposal. Let me know, please, if you would like me to do that for you.

montego, No, everything is fine now. If Guardian has something to say when he comes back, then let him say it and we can discuss. I would like to discuss this, anyways. It's not really much of a 'debate', but mostly a conversation of 'information proving'. You may consider this a debate, but I'm not trying in, any way, to argue. Everything is fine, just leave all of the comments and everything. I know it's possible to copy TTG's theme, as I've done so on MyBB.

If someone wants to spend so much money, he does it is usually not in a public forum. I doubt you ever have so much money to spend.

How do you Telli has already written, TTG was built as a sales order and he has no interest in publishing his modifications.

That it blocks you from this side is understandable since all your links created are visible in his referrer. Now you want to also avoid his Apache rules? Unbelievable.

I'm trying to find a rent-a-code that can help me with this, that's why I am posting in a 'public forum'. And exactly what I want is to make a sales order and have somebody make it for me, for the money I give them.

@ ricktido, It was not my intention to confuse you or anyone else and whilst it isn't really pertinent to your original post, I think I definitely owe you an explanation regarding my response, so here goes..
Quote:
Why would you think that? Just because it's abbreviated "TTG"?

No, I actually spent a few minutes researching it. TTG could equally be an abbreviation of the website name but it makes more sense for TTG to be an abbreviation for the "engine" that the site is built on since it features in the source code of the website.
Quote:

I don't disbelieve you!
I am merely making a different observation based upon the 9 years I have been part of this community and my 5+ years as a web developer.
We have already had this conversation I think in another forum thread but to clarify again;
fisubice in it's original form was a forum template for phpBB, it was later ported as part of the BBtoNuke project and improved upon.
The fact the file says 'fisubice' doesn't actually mean that much - if you look at any of the stylesheets for the forums in phpNuke or even RavenNuke, including the forum templates that are part of the site themes, the chances are high that regardless of the template or theme name, the forum stylesheet says "subSilver".

Quote:
Also, they use the your_account module.
Code:

^That 403's, proving that the file is there, but just blocked from public view.
More proof they use the Your_Account module:

Actually no, that doesn't prove the file is there but it proves it probably was at some point and the most likely reason for the 403 is because it's now a dead link, which might support the hypothesis that the site might have once been powered by phpNuke or a fork of phpNuke.
Quote:

Code:
http://www.thetechgame.com/Your_Account/op=userinfo/username=SEAN.html

Yes, that links works but you shouldn't assume just because it has "Your_Account" in the link it is powered by phpNuke, it could equally be an htaccess re-write to minimise lost links for SEO if/when they changed the engine that powered the website.
In fact I have a very similar link strucure in a website I made two years ago
Code:
www.thewebsite.com/Your_Account/username=XXX

That particular website uses IonizeCMS and is powered by the PHP Framework CodeIgniter.
Quote:

Also, this link 403's.
Code:
http://www.thetechgame.com/modules/Account/includes/phpbb_bbstuff.php

Well, like I have said, this doesn't really prove or disprove anything, other than the file clearly doesn't exist.
The following might also be of benefit to you and this is other information I used in assessing the site before I made my response to you.
The forums that the site uses is unknown to me to be honest. It looks similar in appearance and functionality to phpBB3 (or possibly InvisionBoard) and some of the styling attributes they are putting on some of the markup elements are certainly reminiscent of phpBB BUT the actually markup for the pages is absolutely not phpBB 2.
Compare the generated source code and it's fairly obvious it is worlds apart.

The website itself is rendered to HTML 5 specification (phpNuke used HTML 4.01 at best apart from phpNuke 8.2 which did have one theme that used a xHTML 1.0 Transitional document type, even though the code was still HTML 4.01) and this is one of the biggest reasons I believe the site is using the TGG Engine (apat from the fact it says so in the source code).
HTML 5 has only really been widely adopted within the last year or so but some of the markup, if you look at the source code, you can see some quite recently adopted markup like data-attribute and some of the newer microformats.

Of course it would be possible for someone to do a complete re-write of phpNuke and bring it to the same coding standards as the site you mention but why would anyone pay a developer to do that when it would make more financial sense to use something else?

I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just trying to offer you a different opinion because I would hate you to pay someone to re-write a complete CMS and in all likelyhood, they would just use a different off-the-shelf system and charge you for the privelage.

Guardian2003, Excellent response. Thank you for all of the info. I really appreciate it Smile
And as a pointer, the entire file system of TTG is comparable to phpnuke. The theme folders are /themes, but mod of their images are stored on a static server, imgttg.com... How could I implement a static image server with phpnuke / ravennuke? Also, I swear I am not lying on this one... Sean, the owner of the site, had a twitter link in his profile (http://twitter.com/vdr).

Here is proof that was his twitter:

Image
And here is another proof pic:
Code:
http://corehq.net/TTGpics/pic2.png

I was messaging him on twitter, and this is our convo:
Go here and view all of the images in the directory:
Code:
http://corehq.tk/TTGpics/

Sean admitted that they used 'phpbb', and that they "folked" it, obviously he meant "forking" instead of "folking", it was just a typo. I can't take screenshots of the conversation on a pc, because I was messaging with him on my ipod on twitter, and took screenshots before he protected his tweets and reset his twitter account. So, TTG is phpnuke, bridged with, as he says, phpBB, but it was rewritten, and they forked phpnuke.

Also, TTG could be using the phpBB3 bridge.
Code:
http://www.codezwiz.com/downloadview-details-570-phpbb-3x-bridge-version-100-for-phpnuke.html

Right here is where he says it's phpBB:

And what are you saying that TheTechGame uses the 'TTG' software, and you link to theturninggate.com? TheTurningGate's forums are powered by PunBB...

http://community.theturninggate.net/

TheTurningGate seems to be a software for photo albums, or something along those lines. What script / software do you believe TheTechGame is using? They used to be called TheTechPit (TTP), but then changed 'pit' to 'game', so that is why the are 'TTG', not because they use TheTurningGate...

Well maybe Telli could sell the engine to you, it seems you are offering a fair price. Good luck with your endeavors.

ricktido I think you are right. It is true Codewiz was involved in this heavy mod and the page itself is loading some ajax script from him.

I don't see the point of this. It is a waste of time! Sad

Guys, I was reading a little bit and I decided to make some investigation about this case.

Well, I found two things

http://www.thetechgame.com/

1. ricktido I think you are right. It is true Codewiz was involved in this heavy mod and the page itself is loading some ajax script from him.

http://www.imgttg.com/scripts/codezwiz.js?v=4.3

2. This software at http://thetechgame.com is everywhere on internet plus some hackers ripped it already. If u want I can get it for u and u can donate the same amount u mention or less to the whole community of ravennuke.

I don't think u are willing to pay such an amount of money. What if u contact Telli at Codewiz and u mention this amount. He will make it for u. I guess Ravennuke 3.0 is coming soon with better interface and more secure.

Wink
I have messaged Telli, I get no response. I even donated to his site, and he still does not answer. Where have you found a rip of TheTechGame? Is there a page where it could be bought? Please PM me this info.

Also, at the end of
Code:
http://www.imgttg.com/scripts/codezwiz.js?v=4.3
, it says CzCMS.config ... Could CzCMS be "Codezwiz CMS"? Because CZ is the abbreviation codezwiz always goes by. Codezwiz is mentioned numerous times in that javascript file, so there's no doubt that codezwiz has something to do with it.

Not to state the obvious ricktido, but do you not see the blindness of your fixation towards ravennuke?

At first you claim that thetechgame.net was based of RavenNuke and you throw a big fit around the matter as if it is of life importance, only to show that thetechgame.net is only based upon phpBB ?

I think you misunderstand the concept of what ravennuke actually is, so let me break that down for you.

1.ravennuke is a CMS which has been forked off phpnuke 7.6 by Fransisco burzi
2. Every flavor of nuke (in use nowaday) makes use of a forum mod known as BB2Nuke

and number 2 is where your misconception lies.
1. BB2Nuke is what you could call a fork on phpBB software. It is heavily modded and changed.
2. In it's core it will be phpBB, but the main difference is that BB2Nuke is way easier to style than it is to style phpBB forums.

bottom line:

1. Yes phpBB and *Nuke are related to each other through BB2Nuke
2. No TTG does not have to have been a fork on *Nuke
3. Anyone could name an account module Your_Account, for the simple reason that it is the best description for a module to show what it does. Why the underscore? Gererally speaking it is good webprogramming practise to seperate different words with underscores

This is why I presume that Guardian posted what he posted. You are probably far better off with a pre-built engine which would have the same functionality you're after rather than to pay 5000 USD for a complete re-write of a CMS. Why reinvent the wheel?

I am not saying it was based off of phpBB. That may be what the owner of the site says, but for many years, he's kept it a secret and said that it was custom-coded. You do not conceive the alikeness to phpnuke (or ravennuke, basically same thing) that TheTechGame.com, not .net, share. It is 100% without any doubt a heavily-modified phpnuke.

I have been in touch with Telli and I quote a part of his conversation with me:

"I can tell you that it is not PHPNuke, but It does have the ability to utilize PHPNuke modules and blocks as well as Joomla modules and extensions."
