Hey,
I got to thinking about a friends site that I had added Sentinel to the other day and remembered that I hadn't CHMODed has .htaccess file.
I went in with file manager to edit the .htaccess file and there isn't one there at all.
So, I created a file, called it .htaccess and CHMOD the file 666.
What I'm really wondering is... should that file (which is currently blank) have anything on it in order to do what it supposed to do?
Thanks a lot,
Dan |

A blank htaccess will work fine. If you was using googletap then the htaccess contents would be critical to the site functioning properly.
Sentinel will write its deny from {IP} addresses to the blank htaccess. |

Ok great.
Thanks GanjaUK.
I did apply Bob's script that I had seen in another post though.
Quote: | Options All -Indexes
DirectoryIndex index.php index.htm index.html /noindex.php |
And then I created the noindex.php file.
I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something that HAD to be there that wasn't.
Thanks again.

OK..I have a small glitch..I use NexGens GT tap.
The last line of my htaccess file reads as this
Code:RewriteRule ^account.html account.html [L]
|
my problem is this. Sentinel caught a "problem" user and added their deny from line to my htaccess, however, it added it like this.
Code:RewriteRule ^account.html account.html [L]deny from 200.140.166.41
|
well, that causes a 500 internal server error.
Do I need to add blank lines at the end of my htaccess file in order for sentinel to write the "deny from" line on a new line??? |

well, in my haste, I found that in the readme, however, I did have a blank line at the end of my htaccess...wierd.
I've adjusted now and now have 5 blank lines to make sure. I'll post back if there are further problems....

PC Killer from here on out will be handled solely by template files. GanjaUK is planning on releasing a set of PC Killer templates for Sentinel(tm) 2.0.0 upon it's release to the public |

They are good to go. I will wait until 2.0.0 comes out to make a couple of final tests.
The new PC Killer takes no prisoners, it spawns windows so big that its impossible to locate the close buttons to get rid of em! |

Well Zone Alarm popup blocker doesn't stop them, not tried any others so not sure, its not java popping the windows up so I wouldn't think popup blockers would stop them. |
