I uplaoded a .htaccess file into the root of my website.
I chmodded it to 666
I left 1 blank line at the end of .htaccess file
I set as path in sentinel configuration .htaccess
(the website runs on plesk)
I turned in the blocking menu's on: Write to acces file: YES
There are now several IPs listed in my blocking list but when I oipen .hetaccess there 0 (none) IP's in .htaccess
So what do I wrong here?
I believe the path is incorrect, must it not be the absolute path?
/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/mywebsite.ext/httpdocs/.htaccess |

From the NukeSentinel™ User Guide:Quote: | This is the path to your htaccess file relative to your root directory. |
So using just .htaccess would be correct. |

I'll defer this one to the Wizards of Nuke.
I know how to set up PHP Nuke, but I don't know how it does what it does (or in this case, doesn't do) |

Haha well until one of those Wizrads shows up I'd suggest verifying the chmod from your control panel sometimes ftp won't change system files but report it succeeds.
If that shows 666 and its still not working I'd try verify the path with something like:
<?
echo ini_get("disable_functions");
echo("<BR>");
echo dirname($_SERVER['PATH_TRANSLATED']);
?>
The top line will disclose if there are some features disabled the second the server path.
It looks like it may be something with yout virtual hosting and the path mywebsite.ext
/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/mywebsite.ext/httpdocs/.htaccess
Seems like I saw it discussed in another thread but... I can't remember the one. Most of the time .htaccess will work but I know some virtual accounts you have to use the server path. |

When running that there are no disable functions and the path is displayed as I wrote in my mesage.
/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/mywebsite.ext/httpdocs/
I just gonna try it and fill in as .htaccess path:
/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/mywebsite.ext/httpdocs/.htaccess
Hope this works. |

Let us know if that works for you. If so, I'll add it, along with Six's little script there, to the NukeSentinel™ User Guide FAQ. |

Sorry for the late reactiion, I did not had any blocked IP's
Todsay I received a message that a Ip has been blocked, and I took a look.
Indeed after the change of the path the IP is now listed in the .htaccess file.
You could change the manual and mentioned that the full path is needed for this option correctly to work. |

B3rt,
Thanks for the update. I will add this info for Virtual Hosting needing the full path the the .htaccess file to the next update of the NukeSentinel™ User Guide. |
