I was glad to found this in my logfiles, because I did`t know enough about class A, B, or C Domains.

64.246.186.114 - - [04/Mar/2005:05:50:59 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 200 15677 "http://no-www.org/" "No-www verification bot - visit [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] for more information."

Really interesting check "get-validated" at no-www.org Smile

But of course the most important thing is, to have enough visitors.

Or what do you think about www ?

I never use [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] it's to useless.
Same with subdomains that use the WWW like [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] i.o. sub.domain.com

My server accepts both since there are people who love to type [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] in front of everything.
FYI some even try to email me to [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

The most server accept both.
Your domain is Class A. Did you use htaccess or do you have both websites [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] and yoursite.com in the google index ?

actualy i have 8 websites in the google index, and they all point to 1 domain.
Hack, even a sub domain uses the same member data Razz

The domains that go to the same content are: [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] cpgnuke.com, dragonflycms.com, [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] dragonflycms.net, [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] dragonflycms.org, [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
And the sub-domain trevor.cpgnuke.com, trevor.dragonflycms.xxx uses the same member data.

My other domains just use the [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] optional since 80% of the web users think [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] is a "must do" since also all tv/radio commercials say you must use [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

So this actualy reveals the real issue: The media has to stop using [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]
Also making a commercial without saying "www." 10 times will reduce the time which results in cheaper advertisement Smile

There are a large number of Australian based sites that are ONLY accessible with [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] Confused
For example:
harveynorman.com.au (large furniture/electrical chain)
anz.com.au (one of the bigger Aussie banks)
There are plenty more..

I think we need to educate some of our webhosts first. Wink

I have my site setup so even if someone types chicagobase.com, it still takes them to [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] (using htaccess) I do it because of cookies set on my site. Yahoo! does same thing lately.

I ´m also using htaccess and the same way, From mysite.de to [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] because I got different PR for both sites. And the PR doesn ´t grow up. So redirect is the better way.

The simplest and most common way is to just have a cname record for [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] That way either will work. Then, the site owner can decide whether or not to redirect [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ]

And there is still a problem with index.php and index.html. They have different PR. But I heard Google can manage this.Maybe sometimes. So I dont use htaccess for the index.php

Think the site [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] is the same like [ Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! ] or index.php

Just check the different PR. And don`t forget htaccess is your friend. Smile
