I answered this question on NC and thought I would post it here. The poster wanted to get rid of the Who's On Line block at the bottom of the Forum index.

In templates/subSilver/index_body.tpl, find these lines
Code:
<table width="100%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1" border="0" class="forumline">

  <tr>

   <td class="catHead" colspan="2" height="28"><span class="cattitle"><a href="{U_VIEWONLINE}" class="cattitle">{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}</a></span></td>

  </tr>

  <tr>

   <td class="row1" align="center" valign="middle" rowspan="2"><img src="modules/Forums/templates/subSilver/images/whosonline.gif" alt="{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}" /></td>

   <td class="row1" align="left" width="100%"><span class="gensmall">{TOTAL_POSTS}<br />{TOTAL_USERS}<br />{NEWEST_USER}</span>

   </td>

  </tr>

  <tr>

   <td class="row1" align="left"><span class="gensmall">{TOTAL_USERS_ONLINE} &nbsp; [ {L_WHOSONLINE_ADMIN} ] &nbsp; [ {L_WHOSONLINE_MOD} ]<br />{RECORD_USERS}<br />{LOGGED_IN_USER_LIST}</span></td>

  </tr>

</table>

<table width="100%" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" border="0">

   <td align="left" valign="top"><span class="gensmall">{L_ONLINE_EXPLAIN}</span></td>

</table>
and delete them. Note that if your theme(s) have their own forums you will have to do this to each themes/THEME/forums/index_body.tpl
