I don't think I have seen this problem before, and have fixed issues with avatars before, however, this is perplexing and of needed attention.

I might also add, I'm using Nuke 7.7 patched A (2.0.14)

If you go to the profile via the front page,

account.html

you can view the gallery just fine. However, when you go to the profile via the forums,

forums.html?file=profile&mode=editprofile

and click on Show Gallery, there's nothing there. What file must I edit to fix this?

Thanks!

I see this has been moved - assumed it was a 7.7 issue, eh? Possibly someone might be able to help me though? Razz

Two things to check first, the path for avatar storage and galleries in the forum's configuration section must be the same and galleries must be placed in modules/Forums/images/avatars meaning that if you were to add a cars gallery and a star wars gallery you would place them in:
modules/Forums/images/avatars/cars
modules/Forums/images/avatars/star_wars

some people place galleries inside of:
modules/Forums/images/avatars/gallery
which is incorrect.

I have an folder for uploads:
modules/Forums/images/avatars/custom
and a folder for the gallery:
modules/Forums/images/avatars/gallery

These two work fine in the account.html area but not in the other. I don't have anything in the /gallery folder except for the original choices (as default). I also copy the contents of both into the /avatars folder so they show up in the user info block and on the Your Account main page. As far as the forum is concerned, there's not been any problems.

CS, I've got 2 things to say to you...
1) You're, cruel, and vile, and mean and well... and
2) Thank you.

To explain myself, here's what happened, I got really antsy on trying to figure this out, a problem that has plagued me for a few weeks, since I switched to 7.7. The only thing is though, I created the problem nearly 8 months ago and didn't realize it.

On one hand, I viewed it as this - I didn't have this problem (in all actuality, I did)

I thought to myself that I shouldn't put a gallery in a gallery - so I never did that - even though I thought that was doing the right thing of putting the path (in the Forums Admin) to /gallery - it didn't click that that was suggesting the location of the gallery, but actually where the gallery folder resides. What changed was - I went to 7.7. It wasn't a problem or a bug with 7.7 that caused this headache; it was 7.7 that FIXED the problem itself - whether it was 7.7 or the patched part, either way, I thought I had a problem, when actually it pointed out that I created a problem.

I thought maybe you might have given up on me (thus the silly bumps once a week), however, I suspect you either
A) didn't realize I caused the problem myself or
B) you knew that I could figure this one out.

Initally from the beginning, I was plagued with a query... "Why the extra '/' at the end of the directory BEFORE the file name" - Tonight, I tried to recreate the "/" but couldn't which made me think... what if its referring to a SELF-Directory path. So, what I did was I went to my locations (as stated in previous posts) and thought - ok, where is the gallery? Since I KNEW for a fact I was using the gallery, I thought, hmm.. Why don't I recreate a folder "_vti_cnf" used for M$ FP - I did and I put a couple "test" images in there - Lo and Behold - it worked. This confirmed my theory that I messed up months ago but didn't realize it. So, I went to my Forums Admin, changed the path back to
modules/Forums/images/avatars/ and
modules/Forums/images/avatars/

Now... we have avatar peace in avatar land.

Thanks. 7.7 didn't cause the problem - it fixed it (the hard way).
