showing part of an articles in HOME?

my articles showing up really long in HOME. How do I change that and show only part of it so when they click on "Read more" they actually have more to read.

Edit the article and cut the portion from Story Text that you want to be in the Read More and paste it into the Extended Text box. Then save the article.

Doint feel too bad m8 when I made my 1st couple of news items, I filled the top box thinking "oh well the rest hast to go into read more" lol
Then later found I could keep going lol
Now from memory, I think it was the news items, I did get limited to the # of charactors...the # of charactors are set in phpmyadmin in the tables.
Later I found in other modules ( like web link blocks) the number of charactors for name of the site, site descriptions was to small. These where also increased(decreased) the same way
Knowing u are newbie, littlew behind me...
This is how I find them, or anything for that matter.
I go into phpmyadmin, pick the db, search, use word(s) and search all.
A list appears with some tables marked....click browse and then 'edit' make the change.
Hope this helps on future 'adjustments'

You can also upgrade your news module to NSN News from http://nukescripts.net - it gives you much more flexibility in how you handle the presentation of your news.

on the front page of this site there's a drop down box with a list of numbers linking two old articles since I post quite a few articles this is something I'm interested in is this a module or a block ?
would like to lose The old article block Laughing

I have RavenNuke76 v2.02.00 installed

I believe NSN News has that feature as well, but I believe Raven has hacked his site to provide this feature.

I have tried adding NSN News and right side blocks don't show up not sure what I need to edit to fix the problem RavensScripts

Check the documentation in the Patches for 3.1/3.2. They explain what to do the get the right blocks to show up. NSN News came out before these patches and so some minor tweaking may need to be done (very minor).
