changing score to reads in nsn news

Ok here's the story...
In my nsn news (on my index )i need to change the score to reads.
Simply because i need the space.
Because the new grafics are a litle bit bigger the reads end up at new line.
So i disabled the showing of reads but having a problem replacing the score with the reads...

This is the score code in nsn news :

Code:

$morelink .= " | "._SCORE." $rated";

That shows the score..

And this shows the reads...

Code:

($counter "._READS.")";

So when done it should look like :
(Read More... | comments? | Printer Friendly Send to a Friend | Edit Delete | Reads: 9)

But whatever i try i end up with a blank page or reads not showing...

How do i solve this...

Please provide the entire section of code for that entire line as it appears that we are not seeing it all.

At first guess, I would say that it is either a rogue quote or semi-colon.

Unfortunately, score is set in the news/index.php morelink variable, whereas the reads counter is set in the posted variable in function themeindex in the theme.php file in your theme directory. Since $morelink is passed as a parameter / argument to themeindex, you can manipulate it in function themeindex - i.e. you can add the reads to the morelink variable and remove it from the posted variable.

Compare the code I emailed you to what you had before to see the differences.

Yes its ok now..
Now i know what i did wrong..
I was focussed on the nsn news index but you altered the theme index,never thought of that...
Its how i want it...
