New and need some Help/Guidance...

Hey Guys;

First let me say, great site with great info, too bad I found it too late.

I come from a different CMS (portal system), but with so much available for phpnuke, I decided to give phpnuke a try.

Not having done my research before hand, I download and installed version 7.7, figuring that the latest release of a software would be the most stable.

So know after having installed version 7.7 and spent countless hours tweaking my website and not to mention learning this new CMS, I found out that version 7.7 is not a stable version.

So at this point I need some help on how to proceed…

1- Do I stick with version 7.7 and apply the patch that is available on this website.
2- Do I regress to version 7.6 with the scripts available and apply the patch for version 7.6?

I am worried, not being a strong PHP programmer, that all the customizing work will be lost if I regress to a previous version, but on the other hand I don’t want to run an unstable release.

I noticed that version 7.7 was acting up when I tired to install some modules and block that are currently available for download and they just froze up my website until I removed them. One of those blocks was the site info block available here, I researched the forums and saw other people were having the same issues as me.

So any or all help at this point would be great guys, I really wish I found this website before I started my venture with phpnuke.

I recommend [b[very[/b] stongly that you revert to 7.6patched3.1. You could try Bob Marion's downgrader to see if that keeps you from losing your modifications: http://www.nukescripts.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&op=getit&lid=100270

But, if that does not work, then you will be safest at just starting over with 7.6pl3.1
