I have been working on the TRUE Port of KISGB. I have integrated the Nuke themes and am starting to work on the Admin modules. Please test it, but be gentle :). I know there are probably bugs and it's not yet available for download.
Update 10/26/2002-20:17: -- I have added the logic that will pre-fill the Sign Guestbook page with data from the Nuke user table. Also, if you try to use the name of an existing Nuke user, you will be prompted to correct it.
Update 10/28/2002-18:32: -- The Private messaging is now activated.
Update 10/28/2002-22:12: -- Message level editing is now activated, but is in Demo mode..
Update 11/07/2002-21:26: -- Setting added that only allows registered users to add. Guests can view..
Update 11/15/2002-22:12: -- Flood protection added.

(Score: 1) | ![]() | Heya Gaylen, Noticed if I add my URL to the "Home" feature, it opens up my site within the frame (using Postwrap - more elegant methods of integrating within PN .714 are currently escaping me) - is this just configuring the home page in a different manner? All I put was the URL (ie. http://domain.com) Also missing the boat on getting GB to "borrow" the member's info from their profile. otherwise, it rocks! |

I am unfamiliar with "postwrap", so I can't comment on that. As to the other, remember that I have NOT released the ported version, so when you download v4.1.0 and use it, you are using the non-nuke version. Also, I am only developing this (at the present time) for PHPNuke. Once I have that working I may look at PN. |

Thanks for the clarification, Gaylen. working great in pn .714 albeit with no ties to the user base. best gb avail even if non-nuke! |

Technically, I think the only difference will be in the database calls, so it should be pretty easy to mod for PN :). I really appreciate the encouragement also!!! |

kudos are deserved! One thought on expanding this mod into a really useful tool would be to add the capability of a true guestbook server. Although it may make sense to have 2 separate modules, one with server capabilities and one without, this would make for a VERY "sticky" applet, as it would allow a site owner offering user home pages the ability to provide a free guestbook for their page that is co-branded for the main site (thus generating massive more exposure)... Just a thought! |

Thanks for the kudos! I am intrigued by your suggestion and have been thinking about it. I've not had any experience, nor thought about doing something like this. I'd like to discuss more offline, if you're interested. If you are, contact me by regular e-mail. |
