We have a new domain name for our site where previously I have been using a subdomain from one of my own domains. We tried changing the site to the new domain but it is still pointing to the subdomain.

So my question is... What settings do we need to change in nuke after pointing the new domain name at my site?

I have already changed the settings in the admin configurations so far. Do I need to edit any files?

If you're using NukeSentinel, you might also check the Force Nuke URL setting, but that points the site to the URL defined in the admin, preferences, which it sounds like you've changed. It sounds like the problem might be with the DNS servers or the domain itself. Sometimes it takes a while for changes to be updated everywhere.

This sounds like a problem with your host/domain name provider.

Can you provide a bit more information on how you have tried to point your new domain to your site? Also what control panel are you using?

thanks the force nuke URL option seems to do the trick! Smile

I have the site running on my webserver which is using the xampp package on a windows platform.

I don't have a static ip either but my router automatically updates a account I have on dyn.org which points to the folder on my machine.

I got another question... although it is mostly working now if we type in http://www.burnt-clan.com but if I use http://burnt-clan.com it wont work.

the problem here is that PM Notifications are sent with a link to burnt-clan.com.../..../.... which doesnt work.

What address have you got set in Admin -> Preferences?

If it is www.burnt-clan.com and you have Force Nuke URL set to Yes then it will use this address.

yes thats what I've got.

in preferences: www.burnt-clan.com
and in sentinel Force nuke URL: Yes

but when PM notices are sent out it still puts a link in as: burnt-clan.com instead of www........

The PM's are controlled through the forums I think, so check the configuration in the forums to see what address you have set there.
