Blocked Ranges

I was in my NS admin area patiently adding Countries IP to the block list. First was Afghanistan. 6 pages worth. Yes, I did the whole 6 pages one at a time realizing that there has to be a better and faster way. What really motivated me to do a search in the forums, was when I saw how many pages Russia and China had. Somewhere in here I read that one of the moderators here had said this.....

Man you should have seen the lights come on here! I hurried back to NS admin page and click on Import Data, then clicked on Import to Blocked Ranges. Then in utter amazement and sheer delight, I banned %90 of the globe. I could block %90 of all countries in less than 2 minutes, when I had spent 45 minutes last night banning Turkey a page at a time.

However, me being the skeptic that I am, I see that my Display Blocked ranges is now 773 pages long. How big can this get? Is there any harm in doing what I did as far as the operation of my site pertaining to speed, size, etc.?

I lost the thread that I had quoted that wonderfull piece of advice, but whoever typed that sentence, Thank you, thank, thank you.

No real harm. This table is indexed up the wassoo (sp? lol). If you see any speed degradation, it should be minimal. Since you are using Raven's web hosting services, you won't have any crazy restrictions (not saying there aren't restrictions - I said "crazy") to worry about.
