MOD Description: This MOD adds lots of useful BBCode features and makes the bbcode buttons
look just like Microsoft Office 2003. It also improves the functions of
phpBB's BBCode function. It adds the bbcode exactly where the cursor is,
inserts smilies where the cursor is, and adds more ways to customize posts.
The MOD is very fast loading, and is a sleek addition to your Ravennuke v2.30 forum.

This version has been recoded from Disturbed One's version to work with the restructured forum includes directory.

FUTURE UPDATES: I WILL BE ADDED SOME MORE BBCODES TO THIS MOD LIKE THE HIDE MOD AND THE TABLE MOD
IN THE NEAR FUTURE SO KEEP MONITORING HTTP://www.nukeplanet.com FOR UPDATES.

MOD Version: RN2.30

Installation Level: Easy
Installation Time: 10 Minutes

I HAVE INCLUDED THE STOCK PRE-EDITED FILES FOR RAVENNUKE V2.30. IF YOU ARE USING
THAT VERSION THEN YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO DO ANY EDITING OF ANY FILES. SIMPLY UPLOAD
THE INCLUDED FILES IN THE DIRECTORY STRUCTURE I HAVE THEM IN AND IT WILL AUTO UPDATE YOUR SITE.

This version adds new features compared to its last version
like BBCode insert at the cursor, and on selected text. Also some
BBCode security issues were fixed. For a complete list of BBCode
this MOD has, please read below.

no, not without commenting them out. Would be an interesting option though.

A couple of things after extracting the download:
- nice!
- you can remove the thumbs.db file in the root\mods\bbcode_box\images folder
- not as familiar with phpBB mods since "Mouse Hover Topic Boxover forums", but why the mods directory (as opposed to includes or modules/Forums/mods)?

thumbs file removed and reupped.

As for the directory structure, no real reason, that was just the way the original mod was designed prior to all the modifications. It would not be difficult to recode it for the Forums directory, but actually I dont see a reason to.

After installing and testing:
- it introduces some compliance issues, but these should be easy enough to address
- I'd remove IE-specific stuff (gradient color and fader)
- maybe remove marquee stuff, too, since it's likely to not be compliant (not to mention annoying in a forum post Smile )

Agreed. Also, the other suggestions were just that - suggestions. As for integrating jquery, etc. with phpBB 2-based forums, I'd suggest that we look at integrating phpBB 3 first.

Does anyone have a copy of this package? It seems Loki's site is closed at the moment.

If you really need it you could just download the regular advanced bbcode mod. I do not think that Loki did anything major except provided the customized template files. I might have it on my computer at home. I'll post back later.

I upgraded a site for someone and the flash BBCode doesn't want to play ball. I can see the flash bbcode and the link within it which is valid but it doesn't actually display the flash file which it should.

I re-added the extra code to bbcode.php file as it moves from includes/bbcode.php to modules/Forums/includes/bbcode.php in RN2.3
Also added the extra language constants back into lang_main which got over written during the upgrade.
The bbcode_box directory is still there within the Forums directory and has the correct files (it isn't touched during an upgrade any way).

So basically I'm stumped. The original theme shows the Advanced BBCode box, all the images are present and everything seems to work fine except the flash and to be honest, it is driving me slightly nuts as I can think of no reason why it shouldn't work.
I even reverted to the pre upgrade allowed_html array (not that it has an real bearing) in desperation.

I have the regular bbcode mod on my computer. I will put it on a RN site I am doing and take a look. I have messed with this mod in the past so I can probably give you a hand. I'll get back to you.

Is it showing up in bbpost_text like this? I just want to make sure the problem is just in displaying it on the screen.

Code:
[flash width=300 height=300:e3b967479a]http://devilzdesign.com/RBC5.swf[/flash:e3b967479a]

Also what exactly does show in the post? Does it show the bbocde tags or what?

Also does the bbocde id in the text field match the one in the id field?

It shows the bbcode tages , the url etc. Here is the exact code as seen on the page but I have obfuscated the site url
Code:
[flash width=450 height=200]http://www.thewebsite.com/flash/sigs/thefile.swf[/flash]

I though the forum might strip something out of that but no, the post is exactly as it appears in the forum

Go into phpnyadmin and look in table nuke_bbpost_text and see if it shows up with :e3b967479a in it. (You will have a different id).

The reason I am asking is that because if it does get a bbcode_id added it when it is entered into the database, it won't work.

You basically have two areas that could be causing the problem. The initial submission of the post or outputting of the post to the screen.

As for the purpose of the bbcode_id I just know that each post gets a random ID and all the bbocde in that post use the same id. I believe I remember reading something about performance when reading about it in the past, but I can't remember.

That makes sense, after a fashion. I want to install the BBCode box on my test site tomorrow to see what happens and I can check the other sites database as I have a back up - so basically you are saying that if the database shows a bbocide_id for that tag then it could never have worked.

Thanks for your help Smile

If it does not show the ID then it never had a chance at displaying.

It NEEDS to have the bbcode_id in the DB

I am basically trying to make sure an ID is assigned to the flash tag. Because if an ID is not assigned it could be a reason for seeing this [flash width=450 height=200]http://www.thewebsite.com/flash/sigs/thefile.swf/flash] in your post.

So look in the DB in nuke_bbpost_text and see if you see something like this in the post text field.
Code:

.....First part of tet in post....

[flash:e3b967479a width=450 height=200]http://www.thewebsite.com/flash/sigs/thefile.swf[/flash]

...Rest of the Post....

If you only have this:
Code:

.....First part of tet in post....

[flash width=450 height=200]http://www.thewebsite.com/flash/sigs/thefile.swf[/flash]

...Rest of the Post....

You have a problem with the post submission.

If the ID shows up in the database then you have a problem with viewtopic.

OK thanks. I definitely need to investigate this some more.
Because this is a signature, it shows up in the nuke_user table and it is stored there with a bbcode_id so it looks like the problem is with the theme.
The fact you have this mod working also seems to confirm it isn't an RN2.3 issue which is ultimately what I need to establish.

I set this up on a XAMPP test PC and it ran fine. But I didn't test it extensively.
