Setting up a dedi with RN 2.40.01 for main domain.

Error log shows:

Server specs:
Ubuntu 10.04
Apache 2.2.14
PHP 5.3.2

If I comment out the options lines in .htaccess it works.

Is this a product of PHP 5.3.2, or something in apache. or Ubuntu?

This did not happen when I set up an xampp server that used PHP 5.2

It sounds like a server configuration issue to me. I would imagine the server has disabled overrides.
