Simple Question in updating from previous version

Hello,

I have a small problem, and was wondering if anyone else may have had the same issue and could provide me with some simple insight.

I previously installed phpnuke based on the hackerassasins distro. However they are no longer providing distrobutions, and I need to upgrade my phpnuke.

What would be the best way to go about upgrading my phpnuke to the latest version, without losing any information?

Updgrade to the latest version and then reapply all the mods/hacks you had installed before. The only other thing would be to use a file compare utitlity and update all the files by hand.

I guess it depends on what works better for you.
