Hello Raven and everyone else Smile

Is it possible to move zip files from one folder to another one on a webserver with just the power of PHP and as a cronjob?

If so can someone give me guidelines on how to do this please, it will be much appreciated.

Sincerely, TacTiXs.

Sure. But you don't need php if you can execute the 'mv' shell command. Check with your support and ask them if you have authority to execute a cgi script that uses the 'mv' command for files in your folders.

I'm not sure what that 'mv' command can do but anyway i don't have CGI support at the moment but i can request this at anytime tho.

My intention is to automaticly move any new files that have been uploaded to an ftp folder onto another folder without ftp acces.

Chances are that there could be a large amount of files being uploaded, somewhere 250 files/hour and they would have to be moved practicly as soon as there is a new one in the ftp folder. so i thought to run the job each 5 minutes.

Now i don't really know if the 'mv' command with CGI support can take care of this?
If it does then i'll ask for it to be activated.
Any advice on how to set this up or suggestions on what would be the best procedure or any other suggestions?
Thanks forward to all and Raven Smile

'mv' is a shell command MOVE. You will need that for greatest efficiency. Look up the linux command 'mv'
