Hi all, I have installed the new sentinal which is being displayed on the front page of this site and now its blocking search engines? I havnt ever had this happen before? google msn and yahoo are being blocked?
help please someone

Hi,

Better post a print of who ever is blocked....
If you did a new install that it can happen cause those ip ranges of for example google arent protected yet.

Hi I did an upgrade and this has happened ? I have been upgrading Sentonal for about a year now and never once had this problem.

well same here...
but i dont have any problems...
are you sure they are banned?
But if you upgraded then i asume you have the protected ip ranges in sentinel ?

I cant remeber ever adding then myself to be honest does sentinal or should it already have the ranges for varius seearch engines? if not where could I find the ranges to add etc? I have just checked and it shows I have no protected ranges?

Well ,its mentioned a few times on the forums here so it cant hurt to look around a litle bit...
As for google..
Put this in the protected range menu:
66.249.64.0 - 66.249.95.255

Same goes for other engines..

I see I am just wondering now how I would go about collecting other search engine ip ranges?

well for the other engines just look around or just use whois.

For further information about Google IP's and many others, you might visit http://www.iplists.com - specifically http://www.iplists.com/google.txt for Google.
