Group user Permissions Bug or problem

Ok I searched but did not find a solution to this problem

We have a hidden section to the forums, in-which I have members of. my problem is I set up a new forum and I make it private (hidden) just like my other ones and the main problem is it is not updating my users to have access to that forum.

Group Permissions Control I select which group/ select allowed access/ and nothing will not update my users

I can go in and change each user one buy one giving them access but it should update the users of that group.

You've set a certain usergroup with permissions to view that forum? Then you just need to add users to the usergroup through the Usergroups link in the forums.

I believe I am having a similar problem. WHere is this UserGroup link in the forums? I have a forum that I want to limit to just a select group (I have used EditGroups to create that group). I keep going in circles in the PHPBB admin page....and getting nowhere (I am running RN76).

I figure that there must be some basic function I am missing out on. Prior to downgrading to RN76, I had created a forum with access limited to just a few folks, and that has been retained, but I no longer seem to be able to figure out how to create a new group, and limit access to it, going forward.

Ideas?

One way to do this is to:

1) Create Group using EditGroups and assign users to the group (make sure you also assign a moderator for that group, such as yourself!)

2) Create/Modify forum and set it as "Private/Hidden" in the Forum Admin --> Permissions

3) Edit Group Admin --> Permissions and set the allowed permissions for that Private forum. (You set permissions by Group unfortunately, so pick the Group name you had created in the first step.)

You can even use "Advanced Mode" to even limit further what types of functions this private group can do.
