Up loaded latest version of RN when it got to this I received this message.

[14:59:19] 226 Directory send OK.
[14:59:19] Transfer failed.

So after this I proceeded to continue with the install.

http://www.yourdomain.tld/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php

And I was able to get steps 1-5 done with no problem.

Step 6 no go...

step 6a no go - message I received.

The exact error message that your MySQL server reported is:
MySQL Error # 4 = Duplicate entry '982745088-982753279' for key 1

tried it again and the same message. I would think that this has to do with the FTP up-load ?

Any help would be cool.

It looks like your FTP process did not complete successfully. Without that completing nothing will work. Compare the directory structure of your unzipped distribution with that on your server. They need to be identical ... the same set of files. Otherwise you will have problems consistently. It's not possible to tell from your posting how far your FTP transfer got but it needs to do the whole thing.

Also, you will find us preaching here quite often to make sure and use a good FTP client. I personally recommend FileZilla as it is both free (from sourceforge.net) and I have NEVER had an issue with it uploading properly.

If you physically see the file there in that directory with your FTP client, then are you certain that you are giving the right address in your browser? It should be:

http://yourdomain/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php

If that is truelly not working, you may have to get with your host as it sounds like you may have a setup issue.

K.

I don't know now.

On my first up load that did not complete right, I was able to go to http://www.xxxxxxxxx.com/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php and run the set up and got done with steps 1-5.. look above at the rest of post.

So I trashed everything in the root and up loaded again, and I get this message.

PAGE NOT FOUND

You know this from the post above..

So to make this short, I ended up trying 3 FTP clients. FileZilla, SmartFTP & I even try it on my MAC using Fetch, and all give me

when I go to http://www.xxxxxxxxx.com/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php

But all files are in root.

Now, when I go to http://www.xxxxxxxxx.com/

I get this message

There seems to be a problem with the MySQL server Configuration Table - It's missing.

If you are installing this for the first time, did you remember to run INSTALLATION/installSQL.php file?

Otherwise, please report this to the Administrator ASAP.

We should be back shortly.

I am able to see all files, I can see the HowToinstall, etc.

I was able to get to the http://www.xxxxxxxxx.com/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php

My first try, but not now.

INSTALLATION is chmod 765, is this right ?
installSQL.php is chmod 664, is this right..

I think that this is what it should be, but hay what do I know. lol

The only thing I can think of now is did my RavenNuke_v2.10.00.zip get messed up..

Time for some Halo, let of some steam....

You can CHMOD the INSTALLATION directory 777 and the install.sql if you must, it doesnt really matter as you'll be deleting after a succesful install.
From the problems you are experiencing, you might want to run a tracert to the server IP, it sounds very much like you ftp connection is dropping out.
Assuming you took the advice above and compared the file structures, did you notice of any of the installation files have a zreo byte count?

The only one w/ zero byte count is index.html

My other files like let's say installSQL.php shows 20KB on my PC but on the server shows 19758 KB

setup.php on pc shows 25KB on server shows 24212 KB

Could this make or break it.. ?

Ftp client says - Upload successful

There is no problem there - the server is showing bytes!
19758 bytes rounds up to 20 kilobytes (KB)
24212 bytes rounds up to 25 kilobytes (KB)

k.

Still not working after yet another up load. Now I am wondering if it has to do with the path ? The only reason I have not thought about this before as it worked the first time other then the bad up load, as you all know from this post. I host over at netsol and my path to the directories is /htdocs/07BSU/ all the nuke file are in 07BSU. Would I need to change any thing in the config.php or in any other file for absolute path ? I would think not as it did work on my first try for the most part. my domain name points to 07BSU in my netsol preff's...

Thanks for all the help that you have been giving me..
I rely want to get this up and running, I just don't see why it worked on the first try all the way up to step 5 in the install and now no go.. Crazy electrons do not want to play nice..

PS,

Can I just use MyphpAdmin to import all DB tables with out using the installSQL.php ?

PostPosted: Wed May 09, 2007 6:26 am Reply with quote

gom, I use the XAMPP distribution of Apache, PHP, mySQL, etc. on my local PC and have installed this probably over a hundred times. A 404 error is sounding to me like you are not getting the URL to your site files right. I just don't know what else to tell you. Smile

With regards to using phpMyAdmin, you absolutely can use this, but make sure you import the files in the right order:

rn_core_pl32.sql
rn_nsngroups.sql
rn_htmlnewsletter.sql
rn_resendemail.sql
rn_sentinel.sql

The difficulty comes in with the IP to Country files. These are HUGE. For now, I'd recommend not loading them until you get a working nuke version.

As you can see by this long topic I have not been able to get this to work.

http://yourdomain/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php

Like I said it work the very first time steps 1-5.. but step 6 did not.

I have up loaded this to many time and no go every time.

I keep getting 401 Authorization Required error

Message reads :

PAGE NOT FOUND

----
Everything is in root it's ALL of it.
I do not see why it would work one time and now not at all. Could my host provider have put a flag up do the the step 6 part of the install ? I do not no what to do any more, so I guess I can not use this product, to bad for me. It would have been nice to give it a try. I guess I just have to stay with FB's crappy unsafe 8.0 at least this works for me and I had no problem setting it up.

Thanks for all you help, but none of it worked..

Wait a minute! This is the first time that you have said this was a 401 error. All along, unless I missed it, you've been saying 404. Those are completely different problems.

Try, for now, removing the uploaded .htaccess file. I have a "hunch".

I went to your site and I am not getting 401.

I tried this just now:

http://www.blackmountainfoods.com/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php

That file is definitely NOT in your root. Although I may not be able to get to it until Monday, you might want to PM me your FTP userid / password and I'll try and get this going for you. However, also in that PM you need to give me your dbname, dbuser and dbpasswd OR make sure those are correct in your config.php file.

Sorry, the above should have read:

Like I was saying this is with netsol. I have a directory pointer to /07BSU for my domain. It worked the the first time but not now. So the root to my domain is 07BSU and all files in html have been uploaded to 07BSU and this would be root for www.blackmountainfoods.com I have a few sites up and running on my server with netsol, and only one of them is in htdocs/ all the rest have pointers to there directory's

site 1. htdocs/07BSU

stie 2. htdocs/ xxxx

site 3. htdocs/ xxxx etc. you can see now how I have my sites set up.

I was thinking that my pointer was messed up but when you go to www.blackmountainfoods.com you get the nuk message about Sql DB tables not being installed. so the pointer is working.

everything is in root..

Some of these steps may already have been mentioned but I am writing this as if nothing has been tried.

Since you can get to http://www.blackmountainfoods.com/ and trying to goto any file in the INSTALLATION folder is returning a 401/Page Not Found error, there is either something wrong with the permissions/ownership on the INSTALLATION folder and/or there is something in your .htaccess file that is causing it. The INSTALLATION folder and all folders beneath it should be set to 755. All files should be 644.

If those are correct then check the ownership of the INSTALLATION folder and its contents to be sure that they are correct. Also make sure that the INSTALLATION folder has this structure (case sensitive). The size(s) may vary a little but they should be close.

INSTALLATION (folder)
-- language (folder)
-- sql (folder)
-- index.html (0 bytes)
-- installSQL.php (18,698)
-- installSQLREADME (390 bytes)
-- lang_config.php (76 bytes)
-- logo.gif (6017 bytes)
-- setup.php (22,241 bytes)

If it still doesn't work, delete the INSTALLATION folder and all its contents and ftp it again using BINARY transfer.
