help with news topics manager

for some reason there is no news topics manager in the admin area on my site. i am using the latest version of ravenNuke. any help?

Are you saying that you do not have the Topics icon / link when you are in the Administration Control Panel (i.e., admin.php)? It should be between Surveys/Polls and Web Links.

Upload the topics folder again and make sure images/admin/topics.gif exist.

yeah, thats what i was saying, and it's definitely not there.

i've tried that twice now and it hasn't worked.

also, it doesn't show up in the modules administration area either. i think it was deleted once by accident, and now that it has been reuploaded, its like nuke is ignoring it because i'm pretty positive everything has been reuploaded.

Does the entry in the database nuke_modules for topics exist and is it set to active ?
E.g.:
INSERT INTO `nuke_modules` VALUES (23, 'Topics', 'Topics', 1, 0, '', 1, 0, '');

went into phpmyadmin, clicked nuke_modules and i do not see topics anywhere.

Seems its a bad install.Don´t know if your database is up-to-date.Is this a new site ? How about db table nuke_topics ? If you are also missing this check the INSTALLATION/sql/rn_core_pl32 and always backup your files and db before you change anything.

But a row for topics is not in nuke_modules is it?
Something seems to be buggy then, esp if its not adding on

Since this is RavenNuke(tm) I have moved it here. This sounds vaguely familiar. t_henson, what version of mySQL are you using? AND, are you using RN 2.10.00 or have you upgraded to 2.10.01?

it is RN 2.10.00 and MySQL client version 4.1.10

Where did "hideleft" and "hideright" come from? Those are NOT in any RavenNuke version to date. There is your problem.

If you don't have anything using those, then use phpMyAdmin to drop those two properties.

thanks for pointing that out montego. after you mentioned that, i remembered i installed the codewiz hide-blocks mod to hide blocks on certain pages. i then found a different, and easier, way to do it. i replaced all the edited files and dropped all the tables that were created for the mod and it all started working again. thanks again for the help.
