After re-reading this thread, I noticed the Richard talked about additional changes in Sept 2006, and last posted in October 2006. It looks like Loki may have gotten some changes after February, but refers to it as the A2 version.

Bump. Is anything happening on this? Clearly doing something about YA is a priority for going forward with any possible future versions of RN (at least it is to me). As a web site administrator for a relatively small site (just over 1000 users) I don't need all the bells and whistles that appear to be in CNBYA but at the same time, as a part-time coder I hate the idea of reinventing what someone else has already done. I very much understand not wanting to stick bug infected code "out in the wild" but perhaps it could be contributed to the Ravennuke project and handled internally there? Pardon me if I am speaking out of turn.

Well, I certainly agree that the current PHP-Nuke/RN YA module just plain stinks and is in sore need of a good replacement. NukeEvo did this already long back I think with CNBYA (now a modded 4.4.2?). I would sure be in support of this plus we already have a good team in place to help out with bug testing and even bug fixing...

I have got to believe that Raven would agree, but I do not have a feel about timing.

To Technocrat, fkelly and Gremmi, I have split out the off-topic thread to a new thread here:

http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/postt13962.html

Good discussion. We can continue over there...

Hey people,
It has been a while. I am married now for 1 1/2 year now,
and long nights of coding are over. But what is starting for
me is a life whe re I am much more able to be in charge of
how I spent my time.

Anyway, it is really time CNBYA 5.0.0 hits the streets,
So I'm opening up the test&developersteam for new kandidates.

I would like to encourage people to take a look a the current
(unreleased) version at: http://fon.gs/cnbya You can also register
for an account over there, it will be a private place for translators,
testers and developers to communicate

If you would like to contribute, please email me on what you think
your best role might in this project. (coding, testing, translating,
w3c-compliance, security, ideas, new features, code optimizing?)

I am now finally planning to release CNBYA 5.0.0 to the public
this christmas, so want to do a lot of alpha testing on forehand.

Feel free to contact me with other questions you might have about the project.

Cheers,
Richard van Oosterhout
(yeah ,menelaos61 is back in the game!)

menelaos61, welcome back, but it has been way too long, as you can see from this thread. I can sympathize with your lack of time. I am married and have a 4 year old. So, if you don't have the kids yet, it'll be even worse (at least after they stop sleeping so much).

I'll contact you at your site or email...

Actually, it did, and we're working adding some of the features from the Beta version to the previous release, as well as some additional enhancements. The plan is to include this in the next release of RN.

The problem with version 5 is that it didn't fully work - it never finish beta testing, and had some significant unresolved problems.

So, I took version 4.4.2 and am making improvements to that for RN. I am not aware of any security issues for 4.4.2.

By saying version 4.4.2 is the latest you mean CNB Your Account 4.4 beta2?
(link: http://warpspeed.4thdimension.de/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=5830)

I am going to upgrade my account to this version.

thanks for the help!

Guardian quickly found and resolved some issues - it would not have been good to release to the public yet. But, rest assured it will be carefully tested by a team of people and released as soon as it and the rest of the next release are ready.

RN has just released a version so it's safe to say it will be a while ?

If by a while you mean more than two years (like the last release of CNBYA), I can guarantee it won't be a while... Smile
