We haven't tested Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!, which features FCKeditor, with 8.1, but it should work if you remove TinyMCE from 8.1.

Have you considered using RavenNuke. It's a lot more secure and FCK Editor comes preinstalled. Wink

Hmm, can I ask what you didn't like about it? We welcome all feedback, good or bad. Wink

I assume you are aware of the security risks that are present by using 8.1?

You could always try posting in the For Hire forum to see if someone will help you.

I'd be interested to know which themes do not work 100%, so perhaps we could discuss this in a seperate thread?

I'm sure fkelly will have some comments, because he has done a lot of work on the existing themes to make them compliant with the W3C guidelines.

Seriously, most themes don't work 100% on any Nuke. The theme writers never checked to see if their theme was valid HTML.

RavenNuke switched to XHTML which unfortunately seems to have slightly different centering rules than HTML. For those themes that go crazy with tables (and most fancy gamer themes seem to do this) it can get ugly.

Just another reason why we need to evolve Nuke to use CSS instead of table driven themes.

bloated software like microsoft windows, to much stuff that the average user will not and will not ever use.
raven nuke bloated, Nuke platinum extra bloated Nuke xtreme severly over bloated.
The average joe just wants a working cms with added security with a few knobs and tweaks added not over bloated, thats why so many peeps are still running vanhilla nuke and adding the knobs and tweaks they want.

Thanks, spectreuk. Can you give examples of what you consider to be unuseful to average users? Most of what was added to RN has been requested by many users, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on that.

For example, RN has 17 XHTML compliant themes. I haven't checked PHP-Nuke 8.1, so I don't know if that's more, less or the same. Since themes are easy enough to delete (or not load), I wouldn't consider themes to be bloat.

As for additional modules, RN has an event calendar and legal documents, and very few Forums mods. This could be considered bloat.

The remaining differences between RN and PHP-Nuke are enhancements (e.g. advanced user management, group access permissions, advanced newsletter, the ability to display RSS and ATOM feeds, customizable error document handling, flexible and compliant feed generation, support for friendly URLs, improved email handling, integrated light box and tool tip functions) and performance and security improvements. I wouldn't consider enhanced functionality, security and performance to be bloatware, but again, I'd like to hear your specific concerns regarding bloat.
