Question

I will be bringing my

www.okatvriders.com/forum

to my new nuke site

www.okatvriders.com/version2

Here is my question, when i do this. will there be 2 versions of the forums?
Meaning will there be 2 forums and could i be able to see them from both places? If i mess up bringing my forums to Nuke, i will still have the original /forums correct? So i can start all over. Did i make that clear?

Well I get 404 error on your /forums link.

My guess is that you're trying to convert a standalone phpBB to phpNuke?
BBToNuke doesn't do that. It is only the port of the phpBB files only to work in phpNuke.

If you use my phpbb2phpnuke conversion script:
http://evaders.swrebellion.com/forums/postt25.html
it will copy the data from phpBB to be used in phpNuke. From that point, it is independent. You will have the original forums and the new phpNuke site, but they will not interact with each other.

So basically this is how i take it...

download the
phpbb2phpnuke conversion script

then use it and i will have my original forums on the PHPnuke site.....

then once it is on the PHP Nuke site, i can re-name the original forum to something else so noone can log into the site anymore but i still have it as a back up if something were to happen....

is that right?

Maybe. If I remember right the script is not 100% and hasn't been updated for the latest release of phpbb. But, if you backup everything then you can go ahead and try it.

Should work for 2.0.22 - but I haven't tested it on there. Yes you can rename the original forum and save it for backups.

I just did one for a client last week. I had to modify the script I had but I may have had an older version.

In phpMyAdmin, go under SQL and import the SQL file. If the file is too big, you'll need to use the BigDump script to import it.
