Changing from Nuke-Evo

I have a nuke-evo site that I want to change to RN.
Specs:www.sdkclan.com
Basic Nuke-Evo 2.0.5
PHP 4.3.11 (needs to be 5)
phpBB 2.0.22
Nuke Sentinel 2.5.07 (needs updating)
Theme XD-Obstuse

Has any one changed over?
I need to keep my user lists, forum posts, theme, sentinel data. etc
I would like to set up RN on the site, tweak/mod what needs it, then drop the old site with RN running. How much extra work am I causing myself?

Thanks, I've gotten a lot of good info from these forums and have a RN site up now (just no content as of yet) and will be changing all my sites to RN in the future.

There is a compare tables utility packaged with the RN 2.20.01 distribution that you can use to compare your table structures to those in RN. There is a pretty detailed readme file in that utility that you should consult first. Hummm ... I'm thinking out loud but I think that the utility may not be up to date with some last minute changes we made to the tables so you would want to load up an empty set of RN 2.20.01 tables first and run the filelist creation utility first, then compare your current tables to the filelist. If there are any structural changes you will have to make them before RN will run reliably.

Or you can use Mysqldiff to run table comparisons. You'll have to google to find that.

As to themes, we can make no guarantee. You'll have to try it to see if it works properly.

Thanks M. That might be true. I was just being cautious I guess and besides pointing out that the utilities do provide an easy to use means of generating the comparison file. I also wanted to point out that a lot of effort went into making the readme file self-explanatory and I hope people will consult it.

Get ready for alot of work since RN only has 1/4 the amount of stuff the we do in our package. There are going to be a huge difference in tables. It's doable but will take lots of time and patience.

Themes will be the same thing if not even worse. Themes in Evo are vastly different than RN.

Thanks to all for the info. Maybe I will wait a while on this one then.
I know that one of my others will be a large project also as I am converting a site that is a mixture of MS FrontPage/phpBB2/phpMyChat+/ZenCart/CopperMine. I will be making that one all RN (except the zen cart).
Looks like I will be learning more about php than I ever thought.

i tested XD-Obstuse on RN and it worked fine but you'll have to re get it from http://www.phpthemes.net/ThemeXD-Obstuse.html and download the PhP-Nuke version cause the evo version is prolly coded a lil different.

You might have to go through the theme and edit some things to make it xhtml complient. Thats if you care about that. Wink
