What should the title show when I hit page $X of the News? I am Currently getting "-Site Name". I would think it would say "Page $X News - Site Name"

My DT is pretty MODed but I did a compare and don't see anything glaring. Am I missing something?

No, I see what you mean. I'll have to add this to our issue tracking tool. Thanks for letting us know!

For seos it makes no sense to have the page number within the title. Its just worthless.

Susann, I agree with you and I was not going to change it as such. However, if you notice, it loses the front-end information in the page title, which is not right. That is what I am going to fix.

Susann, I am in agreement with you but I can not think of what else it should show and at that time...if I was missing something.

If we have 10 articles per page....What do you use for the page title? I guess we could use the first X chars of the first article title? or We could use first X Topic titles?

After giving it some thought....I think we should use Topic Titles.

Topic - A - Topic B - Topic C - Site name
or
Topic - A - Topic B - Topic C - News - Site name

Something along those lines.....

We need to avoid duplicate titles I think I would prefer
Topic - A - Topic B - Topic C - Site name

Susann,
Do you mean TopicA - Title 1 - TopicB - Title 2 - Site Name?

Susann,
I do not know IF I understand. Do I use Categories in News? No just Topics and Assoc Topics. In the Content Mod I think there are Categories.

I'll have to really think about this as I would hate to add too much overhead. Maybe I should do something more akin to the forums where either the text from the latest article or the first article on the page is used as the title. Probably easier to incorporate the text and/or title from the first.

For SEO I would think you need the most repeated data last or to put it another way, your most unique data first.
Trouble is we always seem to end up with a url thats longer than the news item Sad
Back to the swings and roundabouts..

Dawg, I was first going to say that I would not be in favor of doing what you are asking, normally that is. However, since this is not for the singular news article, but a list of them, maybe it should be more like this:

First Article Title - Topic Title - Sitename

Thoughts?

Remember folks, this type of use model is more of a listing type approach. Quite frankly, if we were really to do this right, there would have been NO FOLLOW on all of this. But, that opens a can of worms in terms of re-coding *nuke.

Ok, this is how I will fix it. Now just need to find the time. But, I've captured this in our issue tracker.

Thanks!
