FCKeditor is taking for ever to load. I mean, sometimes it's like 5 minutes if it's a Content page. That's five minutes of just waiting for the editor and doesn't include the actual time it takes to write the article.
This is new, only a week ago the load time of the editor was not a problem.
It happens on different user computers and different domains, even on two different VPSs!
Might my host have changed something that would effect the load time of the editor? (It doesn't make sense, but I'm at a loss to what else it might be.)
Any ideas? |

Could be the host, could be the browser. What browser are you using, and what extensions, toolbars, etc. are loaded? |

It seems to be slower in ff than ie. Normally I use ff, I just checked in ie and it's definitely loading faster in that browser. Maybe I just need to clear the cache? But would that explain why it's loading slow on different computers?
I'm using default nuke admin toolbar.
If it's the host, I have access to root, where would I look for a clue?
Thanks! |

You can try clearing the cache, but if nothing has changed on your site, I'm not sure that will resolve the issue and may slow you down further since it will need to download the FCKeditor files again.
I would ask the host to check the server for issues. Not sure what to look for as I haven't seen this before. |

Just for a point of reference, FCK comes up here normally in FF 3, Nav 9, Flock and SeaMonkey. Yes, clearing cache may do it.

Sometimes the installation of Fasterfox helps.
Are you sure you don“t have old files on your server ?
My loading time with FF is the same but its my PC. I know this definitive. |
