nuke sentinel Issues

Im using Php nuke and am trying to install Nuke sentinel I did all the core edits and Installed the Ip country data however actually installing Nuke sentinel I get these errors..
can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong...

What versions of Sentinel and PHPnuke? If you just use Ravennuke you won't have to do any core file edits. You will still have to do periodic updates of Sentinel but we can help a lot more with that if you are using RN.

The errors you are displaying look like basic problems with the database and your connection to it. For instance, if you try to create a table that already exists without first doing a drop you will get many of the errors you are seeing.

I am using php Nuke version 8.0 and the latest Sentinel Version, I cannot go over to raven nuke, Im not a game related or clan I have mnay people who rely on my site..we are a 501c3

I think more non-game related sites use RavenNuke than gamers, although it doesn't really matter. RN is a general purpose CMS that has 1000's of fixes and enhancements compared to stock PHP-Nuke 8.0.

I would have used RN If I knew of it at the time or Evo However I only knew of php nuke, My organization is a not for profit organization and I have 100,000's of people relying on the site for information...so keeping ti secure now is a must...

Then switching to RavenNuke should be your top priority. You can switch while keeping all the content and user information.

Im not at all a pro at this.. Im still a newb, I would not know the first thing to do too even try Switching...and My theme I have is Custom created and wouldnt want to lose that as well...

PHP-Nuke themes should work with RN - that shouldn't be an issue. I believe there are instructions in the download for converting from an unprotected PHP-Nuke site to a more secure RavenNuke site.

I will just stick with php nuke 8.0 and Nuke sentinel with the secured upgrades I patched....however I have to find out what I did wrong with Sentinel

Just understand though that even with the Nuke Sentinel and the patches php nuke 8.0 is not as secure as Ravens version. Not even close.

One way of getting it changed if you are not comfortable doing it, is to post in the for hire forums and maybe someone would be willing to do it for a modest fee.

Another avenue is to install xampp on your computer. It would allow you to install your website locally on your computer and attempt to make the conversion over to Ravens version on your local computer without even touching your real website. Then once you have it switched over and everything running correctly, you should feel more comfortable making the changes on your real website. I have trashed my xampp installs over and over again trying to do things and learning how to do things without messing up real websites. Just a thought.

I dont have the respurces to do that......Or the time... I guess ill look for help else where... All I asked is where I went wrong with installing Nuke sentinell thats all..and if someone knows if its an easy fix.

tacu, unfortunately, since every one of your updates failed, and I have never seen this, I am a bit baffled. You had to be logged in as admin in order to run nsnst.php, so that implies the database is fine.

My "gut" is telling me that you need to get yourself FileZilla (free from SourceForge) and try transferring all your files again uses this FTP client. If your target server is linux, you may also want to transfer using binary mode. Something definitely is NOT right!

Well all those error indicates something is wrong with installing the tables and its relevant changes. Did you have Sentinel already installed in your package?

Hmmm, since the entire update "failed", you may want to check your config.php for readabiity and also has the correct access to your MySQL DB entered.

dad7732, the thing is, the installer checks the database to see if you really are allowed to run it (i.e., you must be a super user), therefore, his connection information, I believe, is correct.

Something else is going on here and Evaders is most likely correct.

Could be that he logged out as admin after installing the IP2country and then logged back in as anonymous or didn't even log in at all and then tried to run nsnst.php which could also produce the failed errors. But then again, wouldn't he get a "you must log in as admin" message? Strange that he could install the IP2Country data which means he actually does have DB access. Yes, something out of sorts is occurring.

Since he obviously has admin access then I would drop all the nuke_nsnst* tables and re-install NS 2.6 which already has all the updated IP2c data included. I actually did this on one of my test domains and worked like a charm.

dad7732, yes, he would not have been able to run the installer again if he was not logged in. So, db connection is not the issue given that it made it passed that check.
