blocks some legite users and still bots are registering!!

HI coding gods Very Happy

I run a site with your ravennuke 2.20 and use sentinal supplied, heres the problem.
people from all over the world visit my site and it appears quite a few are not able to view it because of being blocked! (i learn when i meet them at events.... my email is on the sentinal page but people are lazy)
Every other day i have to clear a list of 15+ 'waiting'. all seem to be bogus.
Im looking for tips
tutorials
what am i doing wrong....... sob!

What is the reason for them getting blocked?

Have you upgraded Sentinel to the latest version (2.6.01)?

Sentinel 2.5.16, so no its not the latest, would this explain these problems?
As for the reason, im not sure exactly but both have said its happened whilst leaving the web page open for the day.
Ill upgrade to the latest version of sentinal in the next few days, is there a tutorial on setting it up? an example config file for instance that can be used for reference?
How often should the logged ip's be cleared? and how to stop the bots from registering.
And lol how to make sure the page is viewable to everyone who has never visited the site before

Activate your captcha and make sure your version of gallery is secure.
Update NS and IP2Country as described in the readme files of NukeSentinel.
Check also the banned IPS in NUKESENTINEL and in your htaccess.
I VISITED YOUR SITE WITHOUT PROBLEM.

OK... i have upgraded to 2.6.01 now and i am using the example .ht/ft/staccess files, i uninstalled sentinal and then did a fresh install so we have a base to start at.

Well, add to your string blocker mail.ru or whatever maildomain you would like to block.
The waiting users are only temporary until they activate the account.
Within the NukeSentinel administration you can see the bans and the reasons.
If you still have issues post the reason sting why they got banned.
If there is a security issue with your gallery you need to solve it.

I have added mail.ru to the string blocker, reasons are twofold, because i do get a lot of bots using that domain and to try it. I then tried to register on my site using a mail.ru domain and it didnt stop me? obviosly i cant pick up the mail thats sent out but i still have a mail.ru domain waiting.
I have activated captcha aswell now with a 7

Make sure your string blocker is active and set to email, block and default page
change it to:
@mail.ru

Back in now lol, i hope it works aswell when people try to register as it does in the admin section lol
